carmilla + adaptions
“… and to this hour the image of Carmilla returns to mind with ambiguous alterations — sometimes the playful, languid, beautiful girl; sometimes the writhing fiend I saw in the ruined church; and often from a reverie I have started, fancying I heard the light step of Carmilla at the drawing room door.”
I really like Blood and roses, The Vampire lovers and 1989 Carmilla. I would like to see The curse of Styria.
“Blood and Roses” is so gorgeous. I also have to agree about “The Vampire Lovers” and the 1989 version. I really, really wish they’d release the ‘89 one on DVD or in any format other than having to find it on VHS. It’s too good to languish in obscurity forever. Plus, Meg Tilly is amazing as Carmilla.
