For gentlemen – the green carnation. For ladies – violets.

It’s too damn hot to think, move, draw or eat. I am out of several watercolors, nearly all pens, and all pencil lead, and my head hurts. Bitch, whine, bitch. So here are some finer examples of Annibale’s extensive range of emotions.

Illustration for a Baritarian fairy tale. I drew the picture first, and then Lawrence made up a wonderful story about it. I don’t want to tell it yet, though, because I would like to make it into a comic.

Now little Hans was always strange
Wearing women’s underthings
His father beat him but he wouldn’t change
He ran off with a man one day
Now his lingerie is all the rage
In the black on every page
His father proudly calls his name
Down there in the Reeperbahn. One day I will illustrate every single one of Tom Waits’ perfect, perfect songs.
Hnnnnggghhhhhh ♥

Weird crappy sketch for a weird crappy mood – Hans from Tom Waits’ “Reeperbahn” again. I can’t tell if I love it or hate it. I like the colors and the expression. The anatomy is bizarre even for me and I can’t even begin to tell what the fuck is up with that background. I’ll just tell myself I was channeling Otto Dix as consolation.

Just finished a miniature portrait commission of the rakish male lead of her novel for Ms. Delilah Dawson. I love painting these little things!

Let’s talk about me and my riding dress problem.
Another sketch for G.D. Falksen’s Ouroboros novel (coming this autumn).

Re-posting the portrait I painted of my delicious husband for Halloween! His soul is, in fact, as black as all that.
