i-want-my-iwtv asked me about the pic in my icon; the photo was in a magazine–I seem to remember it was Vogue Italia, but I wouldn’t swear to it. I still have the page, but the magazine is long gone; may have been 2003 or so. Anyway, when I saw this I was pretty sure Lestat and Louis had decided to do a photoshoot for Karl Lagerfeld, possibly at Lestat’s home in the Auvergne before he decided to rebuild. Anyway, I scanned it and have used it as my icon ever since.
I was just wondering, were we ever told—in the VC books, I mean—where Lestat grew up when he was mortal? I know it was in a Village, but other than that, I’m clueless. Like, what country or state was it in?
“In the winter of my twenty-first year, I went out alone on horseback to kill a pack of wolves. This was on my father’s land in the Auvergne in France, and these were the last decades before the French Revolution.” – The Vampire Lestat

“The chapel in the de Lioncourt’s chateau in the Auvergne.” Where exactly in the chapel, if u don’t mind? Inquiring minds need to know. For science <3
As edited, the confessional.
Quite one of my crowning moments. It was my hope that Lestat would be forced to live in that memory every time he went to confession from then on out. Hardly would he be embarrassed, for sure, as he is Lestat, but I felt quite triumphant when he imparted to me later that all he could think of whilst praying to the Father were my cries as he came within me.

This is relevant. Lestat grew up in the Auvergne, hello?!!
Bleu d’Auvergne is a French blue cheese, named for its place of origin in the Auvergne region of south-central France. It is made from cow’s milk, and is one of the cheeses granted the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée from the French government.
Bleu d’Auvergne has a strong and pungent taste, but to a lesser extent than other blue cheeses; it is less salted, with a creamier and more buttery taste and a moister texture.
