Wow, really?! I didn’t know that! Thank you so much. Neil Jordan. That’s a rare case where I like the movie ending better than the book’s! (Sympathy for the Devil was an absolutely brilliant choice, too. I don’t understand how that ending went so well and Queen of the Damned went so horrifically wrong. OY.)

I fell in love with Jim Jarmusch’s film Only Lovers Left Alive. Visually, it’s absolutely stunning. Everything is slightly sepia-toned, which is particularly appropriate considering the two main characters are vampires. I think my favorite thing about the film was that it didn’t scream “vampire.” I don’t consider it being about vampires at all, really. It’s more about art itself and love’s immortality. I absolutely loved it. Beautiful, subtle performances from Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, and John Hurt. Definitely one of the top ten films in my book!
Charcoal felt perfect for Adam and Eve. It’s rich but soft, pristine but chalky. Given the fact that they both manage to look impeccably polished yet ancient and disheveled at the same time, it was the perfect medium to use. I added the border in Pixlr because the piece looked unfinished without some sort of dark fraying around the edges.
If you haven’t seen the movie, please do—it’s surprisingly funny and heartfelt, not to mention being a literature lover’s dream. Kit Marlowe is a supporting character. Can’t get any better than that!
Side note: If Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston made a baby, that kid’s cheekbones could cut through steel.

Man, the quality on this is just horrible. I’m going to try to fix it later.
In any case, here’s Christine in her fifties or sixties rockin’ some Edwardian jewelry and perennially awesome hair.

A.K.A. “I have HAD it up to HERE with you and your CRAP, you glorified fop!”
Nine times out of ten, Louis just sits there and sulks. I like to think that somewhere in that sappy mess of hair, there’s some other emotion besides self-pity.
Probably not.
Claudia gives me the creeps, but kudos to her for giving Lestat the old one-two. 😆

Sketch this, sketch that…Gosh, me, finish something, why don’t you?
This was a quickie done of Lestat from everyone’s favorite part of that movie. 🙂 I really need to rework this one, but I still want to fix it up and post a finished version.
“I assume I need no introduction.”
This is how you fanart. It doesn’t even need to be colored in. Such a well-captured expression.
