In the book (interview with the vampire) I know that Louis had a brother named Paul but didn’t he also have a sister? And in the book does he ever mention his mother or father? I can’t recall.

Yes, he had a brother Paul

  • Louis’ brother: “He had the smoothest skin and the largest blue eyes. He was robust, not thin as I am now and was then” (IWTV) Not sure whether it’s canon or fanon but Paul was supposedly blond. He was 15 when he died, right after an argument in which Louis had laughed at him, had not believed him, and so, felt responsible for Paul’s death.

  • Louis’ sister: Unnamed (it’s fanon that her name is Henriette “Minette“ de Pointe du Lac), she played the harpsichord. After Paul died “My sister went to bed rather than face the funeral… People in society asked my sister offensive questions about the whole incident, and she became an hysteric. She wasn’t really an hysteric. She simply thought she ought to react that way, so she did…  I did come to know my sister, forbidding her the plantation for the city life which she so needed in order to know her own time of life and her own beauty and come to marry, not brood for our lost brother or my going away or become a nursemaid for our mother.”
  • Louis’ mother: Unnamed (it’s fanon that her name is

Paulette de Pointe du Lac) Louis didn’t seem to have a great relationship with his mother. When Paul died, “my mother told everyone in the parish that something horrible had happened in my room which I would not reveal; and even the police questioned me, on the word of my own mother.”

  • Louis’ father: Unnamed (it’s fanon that his name is

Aurestile Jean Michel Pointe du Lac) At the beginning of IWTV, Louis is 25, his father is dead and Louis “was head of the family and I had to defend [Paul] constantly from my mother and sister.” Defend him from their trying to get him to go out and have fun; but Paul was committed to the Bible.

I’M PRO AT SHOTA

Cass when I mused about wanting an FC of Paul

I’m crying because it came out so wrong

(via merciful-death)

I am a professional shota )

If I may interject, I always saw Max Pirkis (Wm.. Blakeney, Master & Commander: Far Side of the World) as a young Paul Pointe du Lac, who I recall as being fair like Louis’ father.

Lestat here. I want to answer one short question from Alex Hall. Alex asks me: “Did you kill Louis’s brother?” The answer is no. I had nothing to do whatsoever with the death of Louis’ brother. For those of you who don’t or can’t know, this pertains to the story of “Interview with the Vampire.” When I encountered Louis in the 18th century in Louisiana, Louis was grieving for his dead brother. Louis felt he’d failed his brother and caused the brother to take his own life. For a variety of highly complex reasons, I found Louis profoundly emotionally and physically attractive, and I invited him to receive the Dark Gift from me. I brought him over, made him my vampire brother, friend and lover. But only after did I learn about his family, his personal losses, his grief, etc. I would never have struck down some innocent person – Louis’ brother — just to make another person ripe for the Dark Gift. Never even occurred to me. I found Louis deliciously despairing, reckless, and charming. Of course, if he had not lost his brother he might not have been so attractive to me. But again, I didn’t plan all this. There are too many likely candidates available at all times for the Dark Blood; one does not have to go to great lengths to prepare people for it. At least that is what I felt back then in those nights. —– I’ll be back later today to answer more questions.

ANOTHER Fan Question for Lestat answered.

Day 10: Favorite non-vampire character

Paul de Pointe du Lac

(Honestly I had a hard time even THINKING of a character who wasn’t a vampire, and then an even harder time trying to think of one I liked. I haven’t read any of the books that cross over with the witches. I would have picked David, but then he gets turned anyways. So I choose Louis’ brother. True we don’t see much of him, but the loving way Louis describes him in makes me like him anyways. And he reminds me Armand and Nicki, my two absolute favorites.)
