Magnus turns Lestat by dididouli

So, I’ve been drawing this a while ago but I didn’t know how to finish It ( background or not, paper texture or not, colors or not…you got it) and then I just drop it.

But thanks to my best friend Camillou who kiked my ass and told me that I should post it and stop being so captious, I finally did…

Its the scene in “the vampire Lestat” when Lestat got turned by this old (and crazy) vampire Magnus

So the characters belong to Anne Rice in his vampire chronicles.

So I don’t even care whether you like it or not, but it’s very rare to see Magnus fanart. Yes he was a monster. Yes he did a horrible thing (well, more than one, for sure). But without Magnus, we would have no Vampire Lestat. I guess the Children of Darkness might have picked him. What a different story that would have been…

Interview illustrations : Louis and Claudia by dididouli

Here is Louis trying to protect Claudia when the theatre finally comes for them..

These are a couple of years old, I made illustrations for Interview with the Vampire and actually got an A for it (yay me). it was all made in China ink.

I worked on these pieces like mad at the time (I had a hundred of bad sketches all around my desk) and that’s how I learned to draw freely and SEEMINGLY effortlessly with a pen and ink.

So always remember to practice practice practice and look up a lot of references and then try to copy the technique and then practice again.. it’s the only way to get better.

What are you working on now?

“Oh, I’m interested in exploring Atlantis. I’m working on a novel now—I was working on it before I broke off to do The Wolf Gift—and it’s called Born for Atlantis, and it’s about several immortals sent to the planet during the time of Atlantis and it tells the story of what happened. They’re now still alive in the modern age and they’re facing a crisis. I’m also working on something to do with aliens.”

– Anne Rice

So I found this very WTF quote in an article from 2011, so maybe this project has been moved aside, or MAYBE THIS IS PART OF PRINCE LESTAT, either way, OMFG, had to share it.

diplomacywink said: Ruh-roh. PLEASE NOT ALIENS IN THE VC NOOO

I hope not. I very much hope not. We just need to be prepared for that possibility 😛

Bc you needed to see the MRI scans of Anne Rice’s brain. These were originally available PRINTED ON T-SHIRTS on her website.

“ANNE’S BRAIN” T-SHIRTS

Two of the T-shirts have copies of an MRI (magnetic resonance image) of Anne’s brain. Both shirts have cross-sections: one version is from a side profile and the other version is a cross section as if looking down from above Anne’s head. Both shirts say “Anne Rice – My Brain” in Anne’s handwriting. The shirts are Beefy-T’s 100% cotton in size extra-large only and the cost is $15.00 plus shipping and handling.

Anne Rice

Anne Rice consistently, and aggressively, objected to fan fiction based on any of her characters (mostly those from her famous Interview with the Vampire and its sequels in The Vampire Chronicles) or other elements in her books, and she formally requested that FanFiction.Net remove stories featuring her characters.[50] However, in 2012, Metro reported that Rice has taken a milder stance on the issue: “I got upset about 20 years ago because I thought it would block me,” she said. “However, it’s been very easy to avoid reading any, so live and let live. If I were a young writer, I’d want to own my own ideas. But maybe fan fiction is a transitional phase: whatever gets you there, gets you there.”[51]

Anne Rice, re: fanfiction.

So I just came across this quote on the Wiki page re: Legal issues with fan fiction, and it seemed relevant to the VC fandom. Maybe she doesn’t despise fanfic as much anymore!
