Salai was the pupil of Davinci. He entered Vinci House when he was ten years old. Vinci renamed him “salai” ( it means little devil, his real name is Giacomo) because “Leonardo made a list of the boy’s misdemeanours, calling him “a thief, a liar, stubborn, and a glutton”. But despite Salai’s thievery and general delinquency —” I’d like you to investigate a little bit more.. is really interesting…. Really. haha <3 Love your blog. ( i wish i could tell you more </3 )

Thanks for the info! I think this is pretty cool, that it seems like there is a connection here, but I’m not really hugely into Marius/Armand myself… so ppl who love Armand/Marius more than I do can do their own deep investigating for more, but I did just a teensy bit, this was a cool find:

Hi every one :’B have you ever taught about the similar story between Marius/Armand, and Leonardo Davinci /Salai. Both painters, both armand and salai have a similar behavior… “Salai” means devil… and Armand is… well you how lovely he is <3 I think, maybe… Anne took this like and example to write the story … Anyone who shares this?

I don’t know the story of Leonardo Davinci /Salai! It’s possible AR was inspired by it, I haven’t seen her mention Salai… Did they do this kind of cute stuff?

Even the physical traits they share are not easily missed.
Leonardo da Vince was, actually, blonde. Salai had auburn curls (his actual name was Giangiacomo Caprotti. “Salai” was the name Leonardo gave him. Sounds familiar?)

Da Vinci’s The Last Supper vs. the Théâtre des Vampires (Interview with the Vampire)

vampchronfic (V) and I (Mater Fabuloso) were having a serious discussion about ^this brief moment:

V: Look at the vampire at the end in the back row (left). I can’t stop laughing! Have we ever identified all of them? 

M:

Omg no, we never identified them! Must be done…

He might be Felix. 

V:  Even funnier – bottom row left, 2nd in, that little one, head peeking out at the last minute! That’s got to be Laurent.

M: YES Laurent! Lady Vampire on the Right: the mad queen, right? She got a name in PL I think… can’t remember right now…

V: Allesandra was the Old Queen.

M: RIIIIIGHT.
