bluestockingcouture:

This evening I wrote a 1,800 word review of ’Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis’ that quotes Rousseau, which was some distraction from the headachey fatigue at the tail end of this damned virus.

I am pleased you’re distracting yourself and feeling somewhat better – long may it continue – and very pleased you’ve posted your review here, because I wanted to share it with @i-want-my-iwtv and this makes it easier. It’s a very well-written review!

Oh cool! Thanks @katzenfabrik. I enjoyed @bluestockingcouture’s review, even tho I haven’t finished reading PLROA myself (I love being spoiled tho, so no worries there).

Yes, ppl, send me links to your PLROA reviews, I want to make a masterpost.

firelight-fading:

I’m not sure if this is as debatable of a topic as she claims it is, but I thought this was interesting for those who have read, or are reading, Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis. @i-want-my-iwtv

I don’t really need to cut this or do a spoiler alert, since AR is now telling us this isn’t the definitive answer for what Memnoch is, but I’ll do a cut just in case.

From PLROA, Lestat’s POV:

^I didn’t know this was even a debate, but Magnus says this pretty definitively, he even claims to have escaped Memnoch’s realm. So… should be interesting to see what AR does with Memnoch. I almost feel like she’s hanging onto him to spite everyone who gave Memnoch the Devil bad reviews way back when, but for whatever reason, I think she may be setting him up as a major player in the next book: (Is this Kapetria narrating? I think so…)

nikivaszi:

Kapetria from the book Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis by Anne Rice. I love Anne Rice’s books, she is my favorite author. I love how she depicts the dark worlds (vampires, werewolves, witches) without cliches and without cheesy characters and with dark charm and misery, and finding happiness in the misery. I can go on forever.
Although I haven’t finished the book yet but its characters are so interesting in every way I cannot resist to visualize them. So here she is, Kapetria.

do you know if any online version of the new disaster is there for free?? as a psd doc u know there was one for pl so…

I’m sorry, can’t help you there.

Also, please be respectful of my blog, I would prefer if ppl do not reblog/comment on this with links to it or offers to share it. I’m sure it will be free online eventually… I just don’t want to get looped into legal trouble for sharing that kind of information, so I’ll delete the post if I see anything like that happening 😛

So… Um… Bird-like alien parents that don’t like Mammals made immortal “black people” to take down Atlantis and stuff… I shouldn’t be reading this while sober, should I?

I haven’t finished reading it yet! So I don’t have a public opinion on the freshly Highly Problematic™ aspects, but alcohol does tend to pair well w/ this sort of thing.

So…let me be sure I have this right: the antagonists in PLROA are, it turns out, avian aliens upset that mammals have evolved to be the dominant species on Earth? So they’re *birds*? And they’re *angry*? Oh dear God.

[I can’t answer this w/o the ask itself already being a spoiler, but tbh I’m not really as worried about spoiling ppl re: this book bc C’MON we all know alot of the spoilery stuff by now!]

Tbh my reading of PLROA has stalled again ;A; I’m sorry! It’s worth it tho, as I may or may not be furiously working on a Coffeeshop AU w/ one of my absolute fave ficwriters behind the scenes…

From what I understand, yes. We have an Angry Birds situation, that’s where all the pain and suffering on earth comes from.

Enjoy the book! I can’t wait to like, actually talk about it with someone and read other people’s opinions!

Merci, yes indeed I am working on catching up to everyone so I can do that, too. So far, so good!
