In the name of Myself,
my vanity, and my power to seduce all genders
W E   P R A Y …

OH Lestat,
Father of lies
Hallowed be thine Fandom
Thy Book is done, and it will come
In October, a day after the Twenty Seventh
Give us this day, our daily OTP moment
And forgive us for the crackships
As we forgive those
Who sayeth untrue things about us
and Lead us not into Akasha (or crazies)
But deliver us from Hate Anons.

Louis avoiding the Birds & the Bees discussion.

I love this fanart. It’s by hw_campbell_jnr. It probably takes place in a previous time that Claudia inquired on the subject, in a much more innocent way, not trying to attack Louis as she does in the scene below.

Louis de Pointe du Lac, Interview with the Vampire (Part 3, Ch.1):

“‘I was a sorcerer’s apprentice only!’ I burst out suddenly, despite myself.’Apprentice!’ I said. …

"Again she smiled, and then she drew my hand into her lap and covered it as best she could with her own.’Apprentice, yes,’ she laughed.’But tell me one thing, one thing from that lofty height. What was it like… making love?’

”…’You don’t remember?’ she asked with perfect calm, as I put my hand on the brass door handle.

“I stopped, feeling her eyes on my back, ashamed, …

”’It was something hurried,’ I said, trying now to meet her eyes. How perfectly, coldly blue they were. How earnest.’And… it was seldom savored… something acute that was quickly lost. I think that it was the pale shadow of killing.’

“’Ahhh… ’ she said.’Like hurting you as I do now… that is also the pale shadow of killing.’

” ‘Yes, madam,’ I said to her.’I am inclined to believe that is correct.’ And bowing swiftly, I bade her good-night.“

Did he say that so as not to hurt her feelings, since she can never experience it? Or because he actually felt that way about sex?

Also, look at her logic… if sex is the "pale shadow of killing,” and she’s also gotten him to agree that her line of questioning “hurting you as I do now… that is also the pale shadow of killing.’"

She’s basically gotten him to admit that she’s actually experiencing it, as closely as possible, hurting him this way is the equivalent to fucking w/ him. *cries for Louis*

What lingering improbable thought(s) or idea(s) do you fear has the ability to come true?

faceofabotticelliangel:

What any immortal who pays attention thinks.

Will the world cease living?

No, it won’t.

Will the societies change, will I be terrified of it?

Yes, it is ever changing.

Will I be alone?

Inevitably so. But you enjoy it.

Will I last to be a child of the millennia?

Who shall perish?

Will it be those I loved, or have come to love?

Will they they do what I tried and take comfort in the early ray’s of the sun, taking and lifting them up into the atmosphere till they are no more?

Or will it be like the same as I when cease to live, cease to rediscover the planet and fulfill my own prophecy of the vampires weary of the world whom lay their immortal bones upon the earth and sleep and listen and sleep until they can dream no more and all they know is their silent cries for the unbearable thirst wracking their blood deprived bodies beneath the soil, too weak to climb out?

I often think…before I shall ever think to do this….it will be my darling Sybelle, or Benji though I claim that he is strong. He is a mere boy, after all, permanently twelve years of age. So many made so young when they are turned do not make it. I know. We all do.

And my Sybelle, beautiful Sybelle…I abhor comparing her to the damned violinist, the fledgling of Lestat’s…driven mad by his immortality until he gave up too.

Even Daniel…When will he tire of his sickness hindering him?

Do not start me on Marius, Or Lestat and Louis who have already been through far too much.

What is there not to worry about when you think about it?

ooc; Shortly after coming to America, when he was five years old, he was bit by a Bloodhound, thus prompting a phobia.  He’d been teasing the dog by yanking on its ears.  He was then bit again as a teenager whilst leaving a tavern and has thus never held a large fondness for dogs.

ooc;  Hmmmm, not sure if it would fit into this category, but I think he gets joy out of playful banter with Lestat?  It’s certainly not all vicious arguing, and Louis likes to play hard to get.  It’s his weird way of flirting with Lestat, which Lestat’s generally aware of.  Louis likes to play this game sometimes as well where he’ll purposely ignore Lestat just because he knows it irritates him.

Send ✄ for a PET PEEVE headcanon.

ooc; He really passionately hates it when people try to play him off as the submissive in his relationship with Lestat because it’s really not like that they’re actually both equally dominant but in different ways

Favourite ship- Louis and Lestat

Louis, the watcher, the patient one, was there on account of love pure and simple. The two had found each other only last night, and theirs had been an extraordinary reunion. Louis would go where Lestat led him. Louis would perish if Lestat perished.

permanently conflicted over whether or not to capitalize “god” when i write “oh my god”

When I’m writing fiction, it heavily depends on the character, if that helps. Believers get “God”, non-believers “god”, with an additional layer for who the…

Oh yeah, those IRL exchanges – I usually stick with no capitalization because I’m, you know, kind of a Nietzsche girl.

Let me wank on this for a minute: In my VC fic (because it’s a ridiculous metaception of a novel that is – potentially – being written by one character and edited by another), the writer attempts to show his love by not capitalizing god as a nod to his existentialist boyfriend who is also the editor, even though he himself is a devout Catholic but then sort of the point is that you might not be entirely sure that the writer is actually doing that or if the boyfriend is editing it or if the boyfriend editing is even really doing that or if they’re silently edit warring over it or what.

In the Battlestar Galactica one, the series has an actual Deus Ex Machina, and the use of capitalization and plural on the part of the perspective character is reflective of his relationship to god at that time (is he angry? Trying to be scientifically accurate, in that he has a certain amount of proof positive that there is one god who is kind of okay with being called God? Really drunk and/or depressed and reverting to his childhood pantheism? It’s all there in the spelling).

I really thought about this a lot, it’s kind of ridic tbh.
