I’ll admit that Armand is not one of my fave characters so I haven’t spent as much effort analyzing him and really getting to know him as others have. Can you ask something specific about him?

Don’t you think that Armand is basically the archetype of the “twink” (aka attractive, boyish-looking, young gay man. The stereotypical twink is 18-22, slender with little or no body hair)? He himself admits it in TVA “Everyone would ravage a guilty cunning child! Everyone would have a laughing boy who knows his way around the block […] but young boys? They’re not like men, are they?” It must suck to be entombed into a twink body for eternity. I’m sure he gets plenty of offers for sex.
I can’t agree with you, bc I’m not sure if you’re being silly, in more of a Tumblrland Hyperbole™ way, but I’m feeling like defending him a little.
In general I don’t like to categorize characters as one thing, they’re multi-dimensional, and they evolve and change through canon, despite their physical appearances staying the same.

It’s kind of sad to see such a rich and layered character so often reduced to a sex object. There’s a lot more to him than that. He struggles with the concept of intimacy bc it’s not just about sex.
I don’t think Armand thinks of himself as just some sextoy regardless of how many ppl offer him sex even now; he’s actually very selective about those he allows to get close to him physically and emotionally, when he has the independence to choose.
There are a number of times in Armand’s life in which he has been ravaged, totally against his will, just because of how he looks or acts.

You might also be misreading that quote, it doesn’t seem like he’s admitting that he deserves to be treated like a sex object, more that he seems to be calling ppl out on their assumptions about young boys deserving to be treated like sex objects, and not requiring as much respect as an adult. He takes issue with the fact that since someone calls him “a guilty cunning child,” he deserves to be “ravaged”.

^This sounds more like he’s saying, “People want a lover who’s easy to please and/or will happily serve skilled sex…” Basically, a prostitute, for free.
“but young boys? They’re not like men, are they?”
^This sounds more like he means, “young boys don’t need to be treated with the same respect you would treat an adult.”
How about Matthew Clavane for Armand?

Reminds me of Amadeo when he was forced to become Armand.
I see what you mean about Gerard Way, even though his age is a huge drawback for me. But on the other hand Anne just said Levi Miller is perfect for the role and I was astonished for the opposite reason. I’m starting to think she pictures Armand as a literal child which makes no sense whatsoever?
I’m not locked into Gerard Way as Armand, just a suggestion I’ve gotten from ppl before.
Really, Anne? Levi is 13 now. Still a kid. Could be that she loved his acting, in addition to his physical features. I don’t know what her deal is with infantilizing Armand, but he’s not the only character AR sees as childlike. Even Gabrielle, an actual adult: “If there was any flaw in her it was perhaps that all her features were too small, too kittenish, and made her look like a girl.” – TVL
Levi could play little Andrei, though. His physical features meet my headcanon as kid!Armand, and look how cute he was as Peter Pan:

I couldn’t find any gifs of Matthew Clavane, acting requires the face in motion, obviously, so it’s hard to say. But physically I wouldn’t kick him out of bed he has the right amount of ice and tenderness in his features (Armand is from Kiev, which according to AR is in Russia and according to the google is in the Ukraine so idek), looks like he could be Russian/Ukrainian, and he could definitely pass for 17. Lookit those kissable lips, you can see why Marius had to rescue him!

^I really like how pronounced his birthmarks are in this pic, especially the lip one. There’s charm in imperfection, and it gives him an even more boyish appearance. I couldn’t find a pic of him smiling but I assume he is capable.
^I’ll forgive his awful hat that I tried to crop out as much as possible bc it’s TopMan and bc the blouse and velvet blazer are 70’s glam and kind of A+ on him.
