Hey, fandom in/around Belfast! Want to see Interview with the Vampire on the big screen for its 20th anniversary? Want to see it introduced by Neil Jordan himself? It’s happening!

I’m so excited for this because remcovanstraten and I approached the Strand Arts Centre with the idea and they jumped at it – now we’re hoping to get the word out to as many fans as possible, so if you can share this we’d really appreciate it.

I don’t know many VC fans locally, but I bet there’s more of us lurking in the shadows –  if this sounds like a great night out to you, all the info you’ll need is here:

And if you fancy donning your cosplay finery, so much the better!

I AM TEH JEALOUS omg… bumping this because I wish I could go!!! If anyone out there can go to this thing, DO IT! And report back to moi *u*

I think u is trying to make fun of me/him but it wont work bc I WOULD LOVE A SERIES OF LESTAT/VC BARBIES YES

…AND action figures ^u^ bc he is a man of action after all ;]

I’m pretty sure once upon a time there was a Lestat doll; I remember reading stuff on the VC forums about it during my early internet days (re: six years ago when I got internet at my grandparents’ place)

Ah here we are

http://www.vampires.sarawebsite.com/misc/dolls.html

now from the 1997 collection Louis looks alright, so does Claudia. I don’t know what the heck’s going on in the 1996 collection *shudder*

The Paul Crees one are all officials, the rest are custom jobs.

I like the official Louis and Claudia enough, but not enough to fork over $800+ on ebay for them

The official Lestat’s though….well…..he kind of scares me

Yes, I knew about these. Other than the fact that their price was extremely prohibitive, they were never dolls you’d feel comfortable really handling, they were more just to have as glorified dust collectors Works of Art.

I don’t really think any of those Crees ones look that decent… Louis is white but not THAT white, Claudia looks like any other little blonde doll, nothing really gives her that Claudia look… Lestat has these weird bags under his eyes and generally looks like the love child of Michelle Pfeiffer (an oft-picked FC for Gabrielle) and Rutger Hauer (RH being AR’s original headcanon of Lestat).

And let’s not even GO THERE with the outfits… suffice it to say, in using real lace and such, they all look bundled up with so much fabric that they’re well prepared for a harsh Auvergne winter!

I would want dolls with synthetic fabric clothes that would be better tailored to better bodies. Dolls with posable jointed limbs and torsos for photoshoots (!!!!) and with faces that… well… one couldn’t go very wrong modeling them after the movie!IWTV actors (ASIDE from Armand, I am not even GOING THERE with my defending Antonio business!).

Excuse me

I love that we’re all thinking it.

I WANT MOPING LOUIS ACTION FIGURE, THAT STILL COUNTS AS ACTION and he comes with a few dead rat accessories… and a few tattered books. Also:

  • Claudia w/ little gold scissors, mini-doll, and dagger-stabby action
  • Lestat w/ violet shades, multiple outfits sold separately
  • Santiago w/ scythe
