Kurt Vonnegut on how to write a short story

G.O.B: I’ve made a huge tiny mistake.
Episode 3×01 “The Cabin Show”
“I’ve made a huge mistake” might as well be Lestat’s catchphrase.

I’ve been incredibly nostalgically feeling Vampire Chronicles lately since I’m reading Prince Lestat (which I’m actually enjoying & haven’t finished yet) and where there is VC feelings, there is feelings for Armand, the love of my life.
It’s nice to be able to draw him close to how I see him in my head. I didn’t have the tools to do that at 13.

Lindsay: Oh really? What did he say? What was the last thing he said?
Flashback
Tobias: I just blue myself.
End flashback
Michael: He said some wonderful things.
”The One Where Michael Leaves” Episode 2×01
Edited slightly to accommodate Louis’s quote (page 31 of the Interview mass market if you want that.)
I re-read Interview recently after about ten years, and I forgot how every other line in that book is an absolute gem of Louis being ridiculous.
i came into this world covered in someone else’s blood and screaming and lemme tell you i’m not afraid to leave it the same way
real acting
This is how I picture 90% of Armand and Lestat’s conversations
Basically.
What’s the most fun non-sexual activity you used to do with Lestat, (back in the 1800s, before TV, and such)?
Entertaining Claudia, back before she was too old to desire it. We would build a “set” out of chairs, blankets, and pillows, and would act out all of the famous plays. She and Lestat both endlessly got a kick out of me playing the “damsel in distress” parts, to my dismay. However, her laughter would always make any embarrassment worth it.
Those were the best of times.
He’s popping out of the cake in hopes of giving Lestat a heart attack and then marrying Louis by not actually marrying him just fucking him on the altar instead
