I keep seeing it on pinterest with that URL as the source, & no matter how much I search it, I can’t seem to find the tumblr post it came from or the artist!
@allthe-lace-and-velvet, I did a reverse image search with google and didn’t find very good source for your pic. Looks like this image is posted with the wrong description (and I am pretty damn sure it’s titled wrong as “Strider (Aragorn)”) in this artist’s portfolio. Artist is listed as Mark Satchwill. If you look at his portfolio, this looks like this style.
Posting here in case someone else knows the source or can do a more thorough search than I did. People, sign your work! Watermarks are ok, too! So that we can give credit where it’s due *u*

I just wanted to stop by to ask if I was the only one utterly crushed by the loss of Alan Rickman. I just finished reading tale of the body thief and the entire novel he was the only gave that seemed to do David justice and now I will never know! Rest in peace Alan. We will love you always.
Thanks, @fallenwerewolf. I don’t really have a good, clear picture of David in my mind… I never considered Rickman for that role. I think he would have done a great job, and he was the right age, had the right kind of charm for it, and when I picture him as David, I see him with that little gentlemanly smile he had:

I can partially agree with you. It would be easier to just delete all the related posts on this and let it go.
Consider this, however: Part of that perceived rude attitude is Tumblrland Hyperbole™, you know? When ppl overreact to something for the sake of emphasis?
I respect and enjoy Alan Rickman a lot, but he’s not a VC topic, and I try to keep this blog VC only. It saddens me to learn of them, but I don’t reblog every famous person’s death as it streams down the dash. The larger reason I reblogged that quote was bc it had to do specifically with the concept of rereading favorite books, which is relatable whether Alan Rickman or anyone else wrote/said it.
As many other ppl must agree (since they are reblogging other posts with that quote) the idea of Alan Rickman claiming he would be in a rocking chair reading HP at 80 yrs old is comforting in the wake of his passing, bittersweet bc he can only do that now in our shared imaginations. So you can see why it might have been disgruntling to have that torn away so easily, by someone without any evidence.
Normally I’m a big bundle of joy and fandom cheerleading, always trying to be inclusive and promoting ppl in the fandom and otherwise. I rarely get these kinds of messages because my goal in this blog is to brighten ppl’s day. When you look at my blog and the way I normally reply to messages, you can see that I am usually very considerate and gentle. When you look at the larger picture you can see that this response was exaggeration.
I followed up with the correction link, when I could have just deleted my first response to that anon altogether, for the purpose of informing ppl that if you are going to correct someone, you should also provide the supporting evidence (btw you can include links in asks by bracketing the periods with (.) or [.] or whatever and it will in fact go through but that’s not the topic here).
I would gently remind you all that you can scroll past things that you don’t like, and unfollow ppl you find to be rude, but you know that already. Just writing that sounds rude, itself, but it’s the truth.
