This moment kills me. And I guess I never realized how differently it was handled in the movie.
Wow, yes. It’s been years since I read the graphic novel and I’d forgotten that there, it’s Claudia comforting Madeleine…

I don’t actually draw, like, ever, but… have some okay doodles of Lestat and Claudia? (I say doodles like this bit didn’t take me embarrassinly long already. Hah.)
Anyway, I was trying to copy from the graphic novel “Claudia’s story,” and neither looks anything like the original, but it still looks okay I think so whatever.
Also, can we talk about how very badly I want Ashley Marie Witter to do a multi-volume illustrated version of The Vampire Lestat. I love Interview with the Vampire: Claudia’s Story.

Submission from @baroquebat:
So while snooping around online, I managed to find a Japanese edition of The Vampire Armand and I have never seen anyone post the cover art, which is just gorgeous to me!
There seems to be an alternative cover as well:

I found them on Amazon.co.jp, here are the links in case anyone is eager to import!
Also there seems to be other titles of Anne Rice’s work also in a similar retro shoujo style if you look at her author page on Amazon.jp. It’s a shame that it’s only for the covers, I’d love to read an Armand manga in this style, why does only IWTV to get one, you know?
^Above covers and text submitted by @baroquebat, thank you, much appreciated! I had never seen these before, they’re lovely ❤

*nods* Me too! Of course we have our awful graphic novels of the 90′s but whatever…*
IWTV and TVL got the graphic novel treatment in the 90′s, I’m not sure how far up canon those went bc I didn’t really like them 😛 IWTV and TVL only, I think. It seems to me that the publishers are missing out on an incredible financial opportunity. I don’t know the backstory on how the IWTV graphic novel Claudia’s Story got made, but I would think that The Vampire Armand would have to go through a similar approval process.
We do have these, and CS is the best of them, IMO.

so it’s 2016 when tf are we getting some VC adaptations, why are we the only fandom we dont get any tv shows or movies thats crazy shit right there
I KNOW RIGHT??!

But actually I would rather wait patiently than rush anyone in charge and possibly get a worse adaptation than QOTD.
Technically, I think the most recent VC adaptation we got was Claudia’s Story, (2012) by Ashley Marie Witter (deviantart here), which was gorgeously illustrated and very well-written. It’s IWTV from Claudia’s POV. I got myself a copy. 10/10 Highly recommend.

Check my #VC news tag, in which we’ve been taunted with VC adaptation news occasionally.
If anyone knows anything on this subject, please tag me or send it to me so I can share! Include a link or screencap tho, so it’s more legit ;]
My companion for today. The art is great, the original story is a blast… let’s take a look at this adaptation – Interview with the vampire: Claudia’s story, by Ashley Marie Witter.
