Have you ever saw someone and thought they would make a good Armand without even trying?

Armands are hard for me to stumble upon in real life, bc the whole ~Botticelli angel~ thing makes my headcanon of him so illustrational that few humans can achieve the look! I’m sort of married to Bjorn Andresen, who is not a Botticelli angel. WHY DID HE HAVE TO AGE it’s so unfair.

I also really like Matthew Clavane, who is a model but looks like someone you might just see on the street:

@sheepskeleton likes Clavane as Armand. Check out their archive to see more models and other non-model ppl that have an Armand feel ;D

You might also try my Armand+cosplay search, and you’ll see some human ppl cosplaying as him mixed into that search, does that count?

Just out on the street, it’s easier for me to find Claudias, bc there are plenty of young girls with excellent blonde hair with the perfect amount of curls, I live near Alvin Ailey, a famous dance school, so especially in the spring/summer there are girls of all ages in that area. I like to consider what kind of backpack she’d wear, what outfits. I saw a kid with a backpack covered with sharks today, I think Claudia would love that.

Lestat lookalikes are easy to find, too. 6 foot tall blond guys, especially with an arm slung around another guy, since I live near Hell’s Kitchen in NYC, a LGBT+ friendly neighborhood. I love seeing them in the summer sitting at outdoor tables, their hair in manbuns or half-buzzed looks, tank tops showing off their biceps *u* Shades and wolfy smiles.

Who else? Um, idk, I almost always feel like I’m VC casting. There’s one homeless guy that I pass on a regular basis that always makes me think he’d be great as Lestat’s father. Ornery-looking. But great silver hair.

What’s Lestat’s opinion on Alice Cooper? I feel like in some aspects they’re very similar.

I’m sorry, Anon, I’m not familiar enough with Alice Cooper to know what Lestat’s opinion would be 😛 you might ask @workin-them-clockwork-angels, I got an ask from them awhile back, I think they’re a fan of both!

BTW I think Alice Cooper played a vampire?? In a movie called “Suck” (2009) ?! You might like that 😉

There are a bunch of other musicians in it too?? These are the ppl whose names I recognize:

Also look at this, very vampiry:

do u take submissions? i have a yandere lestat fanfic, i dont know if good

I don’t think I’ve seen any specifically “yandere” Lestat fanfic, I’m not all that familiar with that word, but, as a fandom, we thirst for all VC fanfic, so send it!

Submit it as a link if you want, like this: www(.)website(.)com, bc tumblr doesn’t like it when you try to send

www.website.com for some reason…

(If you have it but it’s not posted anywhere, come to me off-anon and I will give you an email address you can send it to if you only want me to read it.)

is it actually possible for louis and lestat to be in a coffin together? i know louis and claudia could share one because she is so small and young, but aren’t both of them like, fully grown men?

Yes!

I can’t find it rn and so I can’t remember if it was an ask directly sent to me or just a post I reblogged… 😛 sorries… but someone had reported that they and their friend (significant other maybe?) were in a funeral parlor, owned by a relative I think, and were allowed to climb into a few coffins to test that question, and YES, two full-grown adults were able to fit comfortably in a standard-size coffin. Louis and Lestat are both 6 ft tall with Lestat being slightly taller, so yeah, that’s a lot of person when doubled. It was also unnaturally tall for that time period.

image

^IDK if the coffins in the movie were accurate to the time period, probably yes. That one looked plenty big enough for them to both get in and why didn’t they!!! but I didn’t see any cushions at all, that might have made the fit a little tighter.

Currently, ppl can have custom coffins made, it would be easy enough to order one of any size 😉

Thank you for telling me about the merch. I too find They I Would Bleed For Lestat onesie tasteless.

You’re welcome!

Maybe that person was inspired by the part in book!IWTV, in which a young vampire (some kind of nurse?) brings a baby to Lestat as a victim but you can tell Lestat doesn’t want it: “‘You might have brought me something else!’ said Lestat bitterly.” (And he didn’t try to take it back when Louis takes the baby away.)

image

^Lestat @ being offered a baby for dinner & also us @ being offered that gross onesie.

(I think that younger vampire was just trying to bring him the easiest and most portable snack, and babies don’t fight back like dogs or cats do when they’re carried around by a stranger? IDK.)

I have a bunch of fanmade merch collected up in #the merch we deserve tag, if anything strikes you as smtg you want, you should buy it if you can, bc you never know when/if it might be taken down.

for the anon asking about merch: there actually were t shirts made for the iwtv film. I’ve seen a couple on etsy. they’re basically just the poster w/ the huge photo of Tom Cruise superimposed on it

[Follow up to this post] Oh for sure, there is an AVALANCHE of fanmade VC merch on Etsy and elsewhere online. AR probably doesn’t pursue it bc there’s just SO MUCH.

IDK about that movie!IWTV shirt you mentioned, whether that was official VC merch. It would be pretty easy to have such a shirt made.

Some of the fanmade merch is pretty good! Like this cute locket w/ the IWTV cover: (no longer for sale but it would probably be easy to find a similar one on Etsy)

Or you can get an adult replica of Claudia’s dress:

Some of it’s really horrendous tho… I find this really tasteless:

^Thankfully, looks like the link I had for that horrible onesie is broken, idk if it’s still for sale, but this was the price and other product options, too:

Is there any official merch for this fandom?

i-want-my-iwtv:

There has been, historically, very little VC merch bc AR didn’t have the rights to sell things for the years when other ppl had those rights and they mostly just sat on those rights? I guess?

AR has sold varying interesting things over the years anyway on her own site, annerice.com, I should make a compilation… these things come to mind:

Technically there is Anne Rice’s website store, where you can purchase a limited number of items (with really decent prices, it looks like!) including these must-haves (/s):

image

^I’d rather that ppl did not know that I read that book upon first meeting me, and risk discussing BIRB ALIEMS but anyway…

image

^Boss asking if you got the memo on the new cover sheets for TPS reports? Or putting in hours on Saturday? Terrify your boss with this on your desk!

image

^Technically only one person, the actual Lestat, can wear this honestly, but he’s fictional so… idk…

Over the years there may have been official merch for:

  • the Interview with the Vampire movie (1994) – I don’t remember if there was official merch, but I doubt it.
  • Queen of the Damned movie (2002) – Probably there was merch for this? I don’t remember.
  • Lestat the Musical (2005, 2006) – I know someone has a t-shirt!

^So check eBay for that stuff 😉

Update:

I’ve been informed that these were official VC shirts for the QOTD movie, and they have been featured on-screen, too. You can still find them on eBay, but they are pricey? Idk.

^Here’s one.

^And this one, too, which might be another shirt or poster from within the movie, too?:

^…and apparently this was the record cover within the movie! though i’m not 100% sure on the latter; might’ve been a mockup by a fan at the time. Look, Tough Cookie is in there? And two Louis-ish dudes?

Why did you cut off Nicolas’ hands, really?

damnitarmand:

Nicolas could not contain what was occurring within him, and often his deterioration became destructive and difficult to conceal from mortals. Despite the fact that I did not directly claim leadership in an official capacity, I had a position to maintain and I had already protected him on numerous occasions, whether he realised such or not, as had Eleni. I had to prove that the threats that I made were not just threats if someone stepped out of line, or be seen as ineffective and suffer further challenges. I could not exclude Nicolas from that.

On the occasion where I took his hands, it was take his hands or take his life; based on the transgressions involved, it could have seriously compromised our position in Paris had it not been corrected swiftly. He was so far gone that others began to talk of precisely that, and I could not allow it. Taking his hands limited him in a way that imprisonment could not possibly have achieved; he had escaped imprisonment before when it was imposed upon him. Imprisonment meant nothing to him because the true oubliette existed in his mind, and that was inescapable. It gave me control over him enough that he could not possibly leave and potentially worsen the situation. It also proved that I was willing to back up my threats and that I would not respond with inaction if I was questioned.

The choice that I made meant that he lived. It does not necessarily follow that it was a choice I made gladly, regardless.
