Out of all the vampire characters in The VC series which vampire would you say is the most dangerous most capable of taking a human’s life? If I were walking home from work or from a college class at night, which vampire do I not want following me and which vampire do I not want to encounter?

Most dangerous vampire? Following/encountering you at night?

Most of the VC vampires choose victims who are “Evildoers,” people who have committed crimes against their fellow man and seem like they will continue to do so. Examples: drug dealers, an elderly abuser, “gangsters,” serial killers.

If you’re basically an innocent person*, most VC vampires won’t be interested in killing you. They’d rather just flirt with you, take you out dancing or something, and sneak in for a Little Drink, which can let them indulge in their preference for innocent blood and let you continue living, too 😉 Win-win!

*I mean, yeah, “Let he who is w/o sin cast the first stone” and all that, we all have our own share of “sins,” but if they don’t add up to Evildoer status, you’re an Innocent in VC terms.

As far as being KILLED, you can worry about:

  • Louis, because as far as I know (at least up until PL), he doesn’t choose his victims based on guilt/innocence, he just takes whoever crosses his path when he’s out looking for dinner. The way to survive a Louis attack is to tell him about yourself; he doesn’t like to know ANYTHING about his victims.
  • Claudia (back when she was around anyway), is a terror bc she enjoys taking innocent life.
  • Nicolas and Antoine, I don’t know their preferences. They could go either way.
  • Gabrielle probably doesn’t care about your guilt/innocence either, but might attack you if you were out in the wilds somewhere, maybe if you were going for the same deer that she was going for, too. She has no qualms about killing innocent people anywhere, tho. Her very first victim was innocent and she made no comment about it.
  • Not sure about Pandora, IIRC, she ripped a heart out of a victim’s chest, I don’t think that victim was an evildoer.

I don’t know the PL or PLROA characters well enough to mention them but anyone is welcome to reblog/comment about those or any VC vampires in response to Anon’s question.

So ever since I’ve seen Interview with the Vampire I’ve always wondered about a certain scene in the movie. How does Louis drink blood from that women and kiss her at the same time? Did he just bite her lip or something?

vampchronfic:

i-want-my-iwtv:

Y’know I don’t know exactly what was going on but she was in some kind of fabulous ecstasy to not try to stop him notice him basically biting her tongue and sucking on it… Supposedly Louis can Spellbind ppl w/o consciously trying, this is one of his Gifts.

…but also Lestat is doing most of the “work” for him in this scene, she’s probably reacting to that more.

I don’t think there are any major arteries in the mouth that he could have hit, so it’s just, IDK, tongue blood. And he is spilling some. Seems like alot of effort and not much dinner for him. When we see her mouth again, her lips look a little bloody but not damaged, so he was either biting her tongue or the inside of her mouth somewheres. #kinda ew

Ever bite your tongue hard?

I have! And when I had braces (yes I had braces TOTES WORTH IT) the brackets gashed to insides of my mouth. Alot. Wounds closed and then tore afresh. It hurt. I still have scars inside (TOTES WORTH IT).

Anyway my point stands: she must like the treatment she’s getting if she’s this into it.

If scientists could develop an artificial blood that could sustain you would you use it? would you stop killing completely or alternate them?

thelionscrimsonclaws:

Part of the pleasure isn’t just in the blood…it’s the fine art of killing, the thrill of the hunt, the struggle, the thoughts that only my fangs in an artery can conjure. Nothing artificial can replace all of that.

Besides, I no longer thirst like some newborn fledgling and I am discriminating in my tastes. I hunt big game. The gators that lay in wait beneath the still waters, the widows in the crevices, the asp in the grass…the truly vile souls that you never see coming and will never be brought to trial.

They vanish without a trace and you want to know why? I’m the boogeyman’s boogeyman….and I’m hiding under their beds.

I may be fiction but I like to keep it real, baby!

What’s your preferred method of killing?

nodominion-deactivated20151126:

I’m not really used to killing yet. I don’t like doing it. I much prefer to steal a mouthful from a whole bunch of mortals, leaving them dazed, but mostly unharmed.

That’s an unfair answer, especially considering I have killed. So I will try and answer you honestly.

If I need to kill, I often stalk someone for hours. I am trying to follow the only evil-doer rule, and my lack of telepathy means I only feel a kill moral if I witness my victim commit, or attempt to commit, a crime. I do like to stop my victims before they hurt someone else. Intent is enough to kill in my mind.

Often times I will invade a college campus late at night, my senses open to all around me. I’ll wait for a scream, muffled, quiet. Or perhaps laughter, malicious in tone. Within seconds I will be behind my victim, pinning them against whatever hard surface is nearby. I do not lull my prey with sweet dreams. I rip into their throat without remorse. I have learned not to be so greedy, to savor the blood, to swallow with a small stream instead of large gulps. It keeps the human alive longer. Sometimes my victim’s victim is still there, watching in awe. When I am done with my meal, I always make sure they have a ride home, a safe place to stay, and that they will say nothing of what happened.

This reminds me to ask Armand how to confuse mortals. If I have the gift at all.
