This is super random but I was listening to my vc playlist on shuffle and was getting lestat the musical songs alternating with savage garden songs, so now I have this weird hybrid in my head going, “break me, shake me, make me as you are…”

That’s a great combo bc Savage Garden got their name from VC!

Two of the members, Daniel Jones and Darren Hayes, split off from their original band, Red Edge. Their new duo together was called Crush, and then “was renamed Savage Garden after a phrase from The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, “Beauty was a Savage Garden”.” [X]

Lestat loves Savage Garden. Definitely. Idk what he thinks about Lestat the Musical but I would guess that he would be pissed that they didn’t just hire him to act as himself. Not that he would audition. Or that they would know how to reach him. But still!

Amazingly surreal Las Pozas in the rainforest by Xilitla in the Mexico mountains. Created by Edward James in the 40′s, it includes more than 80 acres of natural waterfalls and pools interlaced with towering surrealist sculptures and buildings. The many trails throughout the garden site are composed of steps, ramps, bridges and narrow, winding walkways that traverse the valley walls. It was supposed to be a “Garden of Eden” containing a huge variety of plants and animals.

’“I want to know, for example, why beauty exists,” she said, “why nature continues to contrive it, and what is the link between the life of a tree and its beauty, and what connects the mere existence of the sea or a lightning storm with the feeling these things inspire in us? If God does not exist, if these things are not unified into one metaphorical system, then why do they retain for us such symbolic power? Lestat calls it the Savage Garden, but for me that is not enough. And I must confess that this, this maniacal curiosity or call it what you will, leads me away from my human victims. It leads me into the open countryside, away from human creation. And maybe it will lead me away from my son, who is under the spell of all things human.“’ -Gabrielle de Lioncourt, The Vampire Lestat
