Hey guys,

Update! I’ve downloaded my entire backlog of posts, photos and videos just in case. I’d hate to lose my content, and I’d hate for you to loose any of your content either. So thank you @pupdiesel for the recommendation of TumblrThree, super easy to download and I had my entire backlog within 5 minutes.

Check it out here: https://github.com/johanneszab/TumblThree/releases

Protect your posts and have them for future use 😉

People Off the Page:

I don’t know much about SESTA/FOSTA, but it can’t hurt to consider

downloading/backing up your:

  • Tumblr blog content.
  • Posted/fave AO3 fics.
  • Your Google products like Drive.

This is what I know about it so far, from eff.org:

“The U.S. Senate just voted 97-2 to pass the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA, H.R. 1865), a bill that silences online speech by forcing Internet platforms to censor their users. As lobbyists and members of Congress applaud themselves for enacting a law tackling the problem of trafficking, let’s be clear: Congress just made trafficking victims less safe, not more.

… It’s easy to see the impact that this ramp-up in liability will have on online speech: facing the risk of ruinous litigation, online platforms will have little choice but to become much more restrictive in what sorts of discussion—and what sorts of users—they allow, censoring innocent people in the process.

What forms that erasure takes will vary from platform to platform. For some, it will mean increasingly restrictive terms of service—banning sexual content, for example, or advertisements for legal escort services. For others, it will mean over-reliance on automated filters to delete borderline posts. No matter what methods platforms use to mitigate their risk, one thing is certain: when platforms choose to err on the side of censorship, marginalized voices are censored disproportionately. The Internet will become a less inclusive place, something that hurts all of us.”

#NeverAgain

I was born and raised in South Florida, but I have never been proud of that fact. Honestly, not many people outside of hip hop actually brag about being from Florida. Let’s face it, ‘Florida Man’ is a meme for a reason.

But these Parkland kids, these amazingly brave, smart, and incredible people make me so proud to be a South Floridian. For decades American students have been living with a normality that should never be considered “normal”. No child should ever think that an active shooter drill is just like a fire drill. No educator should ever have to plan to face an active shooter. The Parkland students have been outspoken since the day it all happened and they have not stopped using their voices. They have made changes in policy and will continue to do so. These kids, these young adults, are the future of this country and, for the first time in years, I think that the future is in good hands.

Right now, I’m sitting in an airport waiting to board a plane to Nicaragua, but if I wasn’t I would be out there marching with them. I hope those of you who can will. If you can’t march but have funds to donate, please give to Everytown.org

SO HEY GUYS!!!!!

I know that in internet land we all get like, fundraiser fatigue. I don’t reblog every link I see because I would never be able to keep up.

However, this is an old friend of mine who’s been in a shitty abusive relationship for years and it’s just getting really scary. He controls her bank account so we’re having to do this in secret–we have some third parties available to get the money to her when it’s time so that he doesn’t intercept. But he’s getting increasingly violent and this shit needs to fucking stop.

You might also call this fundraiser:

Help Kacy and her Various Goth Friends Avoid Murder Charges Cause I’m Ready to Fucking Vivisect This Fucking Dude

If you can help, even a little, even just sharing, please do. ❤

I usually don’t reblog these bc of the fundraiser fatigue thing, too, and bc it’s hard to know whether they are legit or not, but in this case I met @monstersinthecosmos in the flesh, so if she says this is legit, then I take her word for it. And yeah I’d prefer she and her Various Goth Friends avoid murder charges!

So if you can’t help, signal boost, please. Much appreciated!

In Defense of the Dark: Tell me your stories…

portraitoftheoddity:

If dark content (be it fic, books, films) has helped you at any point in time, either for catharsis, for escapism, for the sense you weren’t alone, for the ability to face a real trauma through the protective lens of fiction, to understand another’s trauma, to build empathy, or just to help you get through a crap day, shoot me an ask (or more than one if you need to break it up). Tell me about it. Anon is fine.

There’s a lot of purity wank around here insisting there is no value to any work that isn’t pure pastel fluff, and that’s a dangerous myth. So if you’re comfortable, please, lend me your voices.

The Net Neutrality issue summarized

annabellioncourt:

souleaterunlimited:

You (or your parents) pay approx $40-$100 or higher for internet.

So that you can all use youtube, google, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc. etc. etc. This isn’t limited to social media.

Net neutrality says, “Okay, since you already paid x amount of money for the month, you don’t have to pay for each asset individually. Enjoy your internet.”

NO net neutrality means that your service provider (comcast, at&t, verizon, whatever it may be) gets to say “ACTUALLY, it lines our pockets so give us an extra $5.99 for Youtube, Facebook and Twitter. Oh, but that doesn’t include Tumblr; that comes with our premium package. That’ll be $5.99 on its own as well. Now about your Google docs and email…

That’s why it’s important. That’s why I’m spamming Net Neutrality crap. If you’re using the internet, it’s YOUR problem.

-Email your congressman (text resist to 50409) It’s easy, you don’t have to talk to anyone.

-Tweet the FCC. https://twitter.com/FCC

-Tweet THIS guy. https://twitter.com/AjitPaiFCC

-CALL. https://www.battleforthenet.com/

This site does the heavy lifting for you.

-Sign this.

-Sign this

-Email your congressmen (that’s what I’m doing) https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

-Swim the #NetNeutrality tag on Twitter. Seriously, it’s helpful.

And lastly, GET THIS TRENDING. It’s trending on Twitter but it needs to trend here too. This is everyone’s issue.

Do you applying for jobs online?

Do you like randomly saying “wow this sounds neat, let me google it and learn more about it?”

How about “hey who played Horatio in last year’s performance?”

wHAT ABOUT DOING HOMEWORK WITH THE INTERNET?

….

….

And of course….”wow this politician/company/group seems really shady, I should educate myself by more than just word of mouth so I can be an informed citizen.”

If you like the freedom of doing any of that, then yeah, this is important.

This isn’t about losing tumblr or twitter (Gods, if I had to pay for this hellsite I’d finally be able to Leave it and do something with my life anyway) this is about freedom of easy access to information.

This blog did not and will not send requests for bitcoin donations.

There seems to be a virus or some sort of malware going around causing blogs to “send out” chat messages to blogs that they follow asking for help with the purchase of certain items through donations of seemingly small amounts using bitcoin and adds a link to the message.

The message goes as following (at least the first message I got went like this): “Hi there buddy. I need help, I’m trying to buy a laptop and I can’t afford it. I’m about 0.36$ short, and I’d really appreciate if you could help me and transfer some money to me via bitcoin using this *link*.”

The small details in the message seems to have a few variations with the greeting, amount and purchased item showing up in different variations from formal to friendly, from 0.016 to 2$ and from a phone case to a laptop among others.

The blogs that are affected send out the messages to blogs that they follow for a long time mostly, so you are most likely to receive the message from a long time, active follower whose name you might recognize or a mutual etc. The blogs that are affected are not spam bots but actual active followers who follow the recipient for months or years and most likely the blogger who “sent” the message is unaware of the message being sent.

DO NOT OPEN THE LINK.

Opening up the link will cause the virus to spread even more and infect your computer/mobile with any sort of malware.

If you have received a message of that sort from this blog please know that it was not sent by me or within my control and ignore/delete the message without clicking the link.

I just got this thing on another blog FIVE MINUTES AGO,

I’ve had 100 of these this morning. I’m afraid I’ll be closing my IMs to mutuals for a while because I already can’t handle the amount of mail I get without this. Please check your IMs, change your passwords, turn on two-factor-authentication (I know it seems like a pain in the ass but if it’s an option, always do it) and run your antivirus and anti malware.

Malwarebytes is a good, free (with paid upgrade available) anitmalware software for Windows, and is now available for Mac and Android as well, just in case you need a recommendation. The version on my phone has been screaming at me all morning every time I try to open tumblr. Something ain’t right fam, protect yourselves and your friends.

I WILL BE CENSORED AFTER DEC 14TH

Good, I’ve got your attention. I’ve heard about this net neutrality bullshit returning. I fought it when it started popping up a few years ago, and I’m going to fight it again. Guys, it’s BACK AGAIN and even worse theres a big chance it will END UP PASSING!

https://www.battleforthenet.com/#bftn-action-form

This could literally mean a shit ton of you wont be able to see me anymore if your provider decides that they want to regulate/censor, sayyy overly sexual content. You’ll also have to pay extra money to even use Tumblr!

https://www.battleforthenet.com/#bftn-action-form

Please guys, we defeated this shit once, we can do it again. They’re trying to do it now while people are distracted by the holidays and fucking Justice League. As of today, it seems as though there have only been 266,810 calls made to Congress. This is NOT good enough!! MILLIONS of people use the net, and if each one of them took 60 seconds to call and protect it, holy balls do you KNOW how much of a difference that would make??? But noooo, you’re busy streaming an ecchi anime that wont be available to you soon!!!!!

Heres a direct link to make a difference (theres also links to other sites of the same nature on here), and yes, YOU can make a fucking difference because this is YOUR internet at stake hereIf you’re not going to make the call, share this and maybe SOMEONE fucking will!! This is important as shit and we cant afford to lose. Dec 14th is the deadline.

https://www.battleforthenet.com/#bftn-action-form

I know this doesn’t sound important but….

The reason they started this again is because… the timing.

Coincidence? I think NOT.

Everyone is so obsessed with something else, The FCC are manipulating us.

I seriously don’t want to give up Tumblr and YouTube all together because of this crap..

😥

They’re deleting it every 20 hours too, don’t stop rebloging this!

Hey what the fuck happened to all the net neutrality coverage

This shit is still happening people, and all of the sudden its disappeared from my dash almost entirely over night

I don’t know why, but I think people are automatically being unfollowed from the Net Neutrality tag. It happens to me every time I try to follow it. I’ll follow the tag, come back 20 minutes later & I’ll for some reason have unfollowed the tag automatically. I think this may be happening to a majority of people in an attempt to silence the resistance. Please take a screen shot of this post in case it gets deleted.

hey yeah can yall reblog this cause this is very important. Tumblr is ACTIVELY trying to silence out outrage at this by making us incapable of seeing coverage of events. We’re all gonna have to come together and step up about this.

Every little note counts, spread the word, dont give in so easily

I just checked this and i can CONFIRM that tumblr AUTOMATICALLY MAKES YOU UNFOLLOW THE NET NEUTRALITY TAGS AFTER 20 MINUTES

Please spread the word! Screen shot this post just in case it gets deleted!!

There is a reason that happens.  Tumblr is OWNED by Verizon who is a leader in throwing money at getting rid of Net Neutrality.  They have spent literally millions to bring it down so that they can charge you more, slow down your internet and block you from sites they do not deem appropriate.  Keep sending in letters, emails and making phone calls.  IF you post about it ADD links for FS!

My name is Audie. I’m an autistic, queer nonbinary individual living in a household where my identity is not respected and a state where I cannot legally identify as my own gender without surgery, which in turn requires giving up my privacy and bodily autonomy.

The one thing I do have control over is changing my legal name. To do this, however, I’ll need to cover some expenses. I went through LegalZoom and the fee for the adult name change package in my state is $141.

I would appreciate any help offered in taking control over this part of my life.

I’m down to $107.

My dysphoria’s been really bad this week, please help if you can at all.

(better known as a kink meme, but it doesn’t have to be kinky lmao)

💖 might be happening in december if ppl are interested!! 💖

right now i’m just asking around to see how many ppl would be interested in this, so pls reblog/comment/whatever if you are!

how it works, in a nutshell: ppl anonymously prompt things they want to see in fic or art. other people anonymously write the fic or make the art. prompts can be anything from armand/daniel kink to “fake dating mortal au” to “quiet night in at rue royale”.   (if you don’t want to be anon, you don’t have to, of course. the anon is to avoid flaming, shaming, and being sued by anne.)

Yassss a VC kinkmeme for December! Should warm up those cold bodies of yours…
