@vampires-in-south-park requested Lestat and Louis having a good old argument (about how it pains Lestat to see him eat dogs, maybe) and then the bottom sketches have to do with Lestat’s weird animal obsessions during Tale of the Body Thief. There is a line about him wanting to kiss screaming little monkeys so there you go.
I’ll draw is other obsession in that book later. What’s that you say? Old people, of course.
Send requests, I’m drawing everyone already in my spare time so gimme things a bit more like what you see above, oho.

LESTAT WENT TO WAL-MART AND HE WANTS TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT!
Pencil sketch with photoshop colors. There is a line about him in Body Thief going gaga in stores and how he could become captivated to the point of immobility in a Wal-Mart. Enjoy him blank staring at a wall of balled-up socks.
Something came back to him, something he had known long ago – that in the language of an ancient people, the word for flowers was the same as the word for blood.

Finally, a week after my arrival, I found David in the empty Rijksmuseum, just after sunset, sitting on the bench before the great Rembrandt portrait of the Members of the Drapers’ Guild.
The Tale Of The Body Thief – Anne Rice
I went to the Rijksmuseum today and I brought my book with me just to take this picture. I like to imagine Lestat really stood at the exact spot where I was standing today.
I’m not fishing for attention, but I think @i-want-my-iwtv might want to look at this because it’s VC related.
This is absolutely VC related!! Vampires appreciating the hell out of and talking about art is one of my favorite things ❤

Syndics of the Drapers’ Guild – Rembrandt, 1662
“The faces
are exquisitely beautiful, full of wisdom and gentleness and a near angelic
patience. Indeed, these men more resemble angels than ordinary men.
They
seemed possessed of a great secret, and if all men were to learn that secret,
there would be no more wars or
vice or malice on earth. How did such persons ever become members of the
Drapers’ Guild of Amsterdam
in the 1600s?

…’Are
there any vampires in this world who have such faces?’ [David] asked. He
gestured to the men staring down at us from the canvas. ‘I am speaking of
the knowledge and understanding which lies behind these faces. I’m speaking of
something more indicative of immortality than a preternatural body anatomically
dependent upon the drinking of human blood.’
‘Vampires
with such faces?’ I responded. ‘David, that is unfair. There are no
men with such faces. There never
were.
Look at
any of Rembrandt’s paintings. Absurd to believe that such people ever existed,
let alone that Amsterdam was full of them in Rembrandt’s time, that every man
or woman who ever darkened his door was an angel. No, it’s Rembrandt you see in
these faces, and Rembrandt is immortal, of course.’ ” – Lestat, The Tale Of The Body Thief
Drawing more scenes that I like from Tale of the Body Thief.
I love how Mojo and Lestat connect instantly, such a good puppy. Also, learning that Louis would come over to Lestat’s for movie watching sessions is… Delicious, hahahah.
I’m reading Tale of the Body Thief right now, sketched some of my favorite scenes during Lestat’s first mortal night.
Hey! What do you think about Gwendoline Christie as Gretchen?
Sure! Why not? What a cool idea to have someone as stunning as she is, and also as muscular and kick-ass, for this person to want to devote all their strength and love, more like a force of nature than a mere person, into giving to others in the missions? POWER NUN.
Her lids were heavy and smooth over her downcast eyes. Like a Grecian woman painted by Picasso, so simple she seemed, large-boned and fine and strong. Had anybody ever kissed her nun’s mouth?

“Help me and you help the devil,” I whispered.
“So you told me,” she said.
…”What a lovely face you have. What is your name?“
“Gretchen.”
“You’re a nun, aren’t you, Gretchen?”
“How did you know that?”
“I could tell. Your hands, for one thing, the little silver wedding band, and something about your face, a radiance- the radiance of those who believe. And the fact that you stayed with me, Gretchen, when the others told you to go on. I know nuns when I see them. I’m the devil and when I behold goodness I know it… The devil needs you. The devil’s crying. He wants you to hold his hand. You’re not afraid of the devil, are you?”
“Not if he requires an act of mercy. Sleep now. They’re coming to give you another shot. I’m not leaving. Here, I’ll bring the chair to the side of the bed so you can hold my hand.”
– Lestat & Gretchen, Tale of the Body Thief

In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

I’m rereading TOBT now, tho, and one thing that pops immediately to mind is this line from Lestat’s narration, upon realizing his victim, that he’s been salivating over for a long time, is not really a cunning evildoer mastermind (i.e. a fancy cut of steak for him) but a blubbering barely-functioning mental case (i.e. an old fast-food cheeseburger w/ wilted lettuce):
“Yeah, look at him, this dirty, stinking, lumbering killer. Men in prison get better chow than this.”
(^italics added for emphasis bc that’s how I read it in my mind)
That’s the old Lestat brand of sass!
LOOK AT THIS is this not Lestat and Nicolas? (okay well that dude doesn’t really look like how I imagine Nicolas, but Cary Elwes as Lestat YES PLZ) From the movie Another Country. [gif sauce]

Aaaaand of course baby!Lestat loved animals bc of course he did and still does:
