But, for my tastes, I think Luca would make a better Santino than Nicolas. Luca’s got great Italian features (wiki says his parents are both of Italian descent, from Sicily and Naples) and Santino requires that.
With the right lighting, Luca’s eyes are really dreamy, too. Commanding.

I searched AR’s FB page re: “someone suggested Kit Harrington as Nicolas to Anne and she loved the idea,” and didn’t find it 😛 Has anyone else seen that? I know she’s a big GoT fan, but idk about Kit playing Nicolas. Kinda big, isn’t he? Not sure if I believe that AR was into that suggestion, but hey, it’s possible! Maybe she was just being supportive?
But he is a good actor, and I do also approve of him shirtless so let’s get him a job somehow…

I have come up with a list of things I would like to see in the new Vampire Chronicles film. Any comments and thoughts are welcome! Putting most of the post under a read-more for the sake of length:
- The film to be based on The Vampire Lestat with a healthy amount of flashbacks back to Interview with the Vampire, that way the unfamiliar audience understands the context in which the second book was written aren’t left too much in the dark. Completely erasing the first book out of the storyline doesn’t make much sense to me.
- Possibly starting the film with bits from Daniel and Louis’ interview and fast-forwarding to Lestat resurfacing in the 80′s (once he is first mentioned)?
- Nerdist says the film is based on TVL and Queen of the Damned, but it was last updated in 2014 and it’s the only source I’ve seen mention it, so I’m not sure how credible it is. Josh Boone has a picture on his instagram related to the Talamasca, so this may actually be true?
I will defend Antonio 5ever and argue his case as more of a Santino/Armand mashup than intentionally Armand. The QOTD!Armand was so horrendous that I don’t even want to know that actor’s name, apologies to him, it’s not entirely his fault.

I’m not locked into Gerard Way as Armand, just a suggestion I’ve gotten from ppl before.
Really, Anne? Levi is 13 now. Still a kid. Could be that she loved his acting, in addition to his physical features. I don’t know what her deal is with infantilizing Armand, but he’s not the only character AR sees as childlike. Even Gabrielle, an actual adult: “If there was any flaw in her it was perhaps that all her features were too small, too kittenish, and made her look like a girl.” – TVL
Levi could play little Andrei, though. His physical features meet my headcanon as kid!Armand, and look how cute he was as Peter Pan:

I couldn’t find any gifs of Matthew Clavane, acting requires the face in motion, obviously, so it’s hard to say. But physically I wouldn’t kick him out of bed he has the right amount of ice and tenderness in his features (Armand is from Kiev, which according to AR is in Russia and according to the google is in the Ukraine so idek), looks like he could be Russian/Ukrainian, and he could definitely pass for 17. Lookit those kissable lips, you can see why Marius had to rescue him!

^I really like how pronounced his birthmarks are in this pic, especially the lip one. There’s charm in imperfection, and it gives him an even more boyish appearance. I couldn’t find a pic of him smiling but I assume he is capable.
^I’ll forgive his awful hat that I tried to crop out as much as possible bc it’s TopMan and bc the blouse and velvet blazer are 70’s glam and kind of A+ on him.

A Nicolas lover, hm? YOU ARE JUST IN TIME for my latest VC casting choice for him, and other ppl might not agree but whatever: Benedict Samuel was so great in The Walking Dead mid-season premiere this past wknd, he’s so Nicki!

He has everything I’m looking for in a Nicolas: the right age, brooding, sassyness, vulnerability, big loving eyes, cruel and sweet humor, and he can phase between all these so quickly. The acting seems to come from a deep understanding of his character’s motivations and emotional turbulence, waves overlapping the emotional palette.
Which can’t all be captured in one gif, especially from the limited gif options out there. So here’s one in which he’s obviously holding back from doing smtg, holding back the cynical comment that could destroy a room, hiding his vast darkness from whoever’s in a 5 mile radius. Getting dressed to go against his will present the Marquis’ son w/ new boots and the red velvet cloak as payment for ridding their town of the wolf pack that was threatening everyone.
This shot below is from The Walking Dead, but it also looks like that one time Lestat used telekinesis on Nicki in TVL, slamming him into the wall with an invisible fist, neither of them knowing what he’d done, or how it happened, in their old dressing room at Renaud’s, soon to be the Theatre des Vampires.
