Hey Vampire Chronicles fandom, in preparation for the new book coming out can we agree on some sort of acronym or other short form to talk about Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis? Because I will be liveblogging this on mobile and I don’t particularly want to type out Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis spoilers for every post (i am lazy and have trouble with the touch screen keyboard) so is there another, shorter way we can refer to this new book as that we can all agree on?

I saw that someone asked you about AR not mentioning Armand, and I hope that person isn’t too upset because Anne mentioned in a comment some weeks ago that Armand is definitely in the book (although he doesn’t play a major role) so that’s something! I completely understand, I can’t live without him either

Throughout the story of Prince Lestat, Armand does little other than be supportive of Lestat, in a way that almost seems obsequious. Not much really happens for Armand, he rides out the whole drama pretty unscathed, for which we should all be GRATEFUL.
Umm… so Anne Rice released a video (the day before her birthday) on her facebook that said she’s already working on a new Lestat book to follow Atlantis. (T_T) Bless.

- Many new characters in PLROA
- Louis – not a major player but a very important player.
- Marius – plays a significant role
- Fareed – plays a significant role
- Viktor – is there
- Rose – is there
- Has some thoughts on the changes in the writing industry
- “The name of the game is to keep writing and keep dreaming…”
- Probs not ever returning to Cry to Heaven, but she loved it, “How the wounded can fight, how we can redeem ourselves through art and sexuality.”
- Into the next VC story EVEN MOAR DANGERS AND CHALLENGES that come out of the Atlantis story.
- Mayfairs – not going back right now, but there’s active interest in Hollywood, for a quality TV series. Promising talks going on.
- AR does alot of planning w/ her writing, but “you have to be willing to throw it all away in the process.”
- She quotes Sandy Gustin: “God triumphs on the ruins of our plans. And I think novelists have to be ready to triumph on the ruins of their plans.”
- She loves us all
All I can say is, if there is a moment in the new book where Lestat *actually jumps over a shark,* Anne us officially trolling us.
You know that he will at least punch a shark, if not drink its blood, if not jump over it. Probably all three, in that order.
All because the shark stole his hat or smtg first. *sigh*
Lestat: I found your note, Louis. Why vampires in Atlantis? More importantly, Why not?
Louis: You’ve seen the Little Mermaid too many times.
Lestat: No such thing as “too many times” for that movie. It’s very relatable.
Louis: Why, are you part fish?
Lestat: She and I are both so pretty and so misunderstood by our ungrateful families.
Louis: And you’re both magpies for enormous amounts of shiny junk.
Lestat: Guilty as charged.
Louis: I’m still not going to read it.
Lestat: We’ll see about that.
Let’s be real here. The only reason Lestat is going to Atlantis is because Louis can’t set him on fire there.
