I’m not sure if this has been mentioned before, but in the Vampire Chronicles, Louis is described as repeatedly watching “The Company of Wolves” which was directed by Neil Jordan, who also directed the Interview with the Vampire film. This means that Neil Jordan exists within the VC universe, so does this mean the IWTV movie exists for them as well?
Yep, I think it does. Lestat is still annoyed that they didn’t just cast him to play himself. He lurked around on the set watching them film it and muttering “That’s not how that went down at all…” He was insufferable.

I feel that way about kids I see out in the world, too, 5 year olds are not all sunshine and rainbows. Too bad you can’t say to their parent, “Hey can I take a picture with your kid to share with my fandom? She looks like the child vampire from the vampire series we love!” Yeah, not creepy at all, lol.

But I am about 99.99% sure the reaction in the ‘80s was alot more accepting, and even hungry for Lestat’s story, than our collective and understandable freakout reaction to this… thing… we’re getting now.
At least Lestat was just tryna have a rock career and explain his fuckups before he even met Louis side of the story, it wasn’t ALIENS + ATLANTIS + WHO EVEN KNOWS WHAT ELSE FFS!
