So IF the vampires from the VC could have sex with humans and other vampires what would their sexual styles be or what would their sexual history be. Vampires like Lestat, Louis, Armand, and Marius.

Sexual styles and history vary so much depending on the ship, whether they’re mortal or immortal, the age of the character, and so many different factors…

What your really asking is about relationship dynamics, the balance of power, the level of dependency on eachother, the amount of trust, how often they’re even in the mood, etc. All those things fluctuate over time.

Lestat wanted to answer this in a snarky way but I’ll try anyway:

Lestat

  • Style w/ mortals: He’s always enjoyed taking the Little Drink while snuggling after sex, or during. This is how he can get away with having innocent blood now and then, as a treat. He tends to top.
  • Style w/ Louis: In the past, he would have to get Louis so worked up with foreplay that he’s completely begging for the D, or blood, or both. Currently, Lestat loves it when Louis takes control and bosses him around.
  • History: There’s fanon out there that suggests he was sexually abused as a child, well into his teens. I think that would help explain his difficulty in learning how to love properly, as he comes across as overly sexually demanding (like literally throwing himself on Louis), at least in movie!IWTV.

Louis:

  • Style w/ mortals: Louis doesn’t have sex with mortals (except one OC that I won’t mention YET AGAIN) bc he doesn’t get that close to mortals. But he does get crushes on them occasionally, like Babette Freneire.
  • Style w/ Lestat: See above. In the past, Louis was conflicted in his feelings for Lestat, his first (or second) male lover, and would prefer Lestat to be the aggressor, and then punish himself later for enjoying it. Currently, Louis especially enjoys calling/sexting Lestat during business meetings and getting him painfully turned on.
  • History: There’s fanon out there that suggests Louis had one male lover before Lestat, but for the most part, his sexual history was just getting drunk and sleeping with prostitutes. He had issues equating sex with love, it took him a long time to learn it, and is now very comfortable with expressing his feelings sexually.

Armand: (I really should leave this to the Armand and Daniel RPers)(BUT I CANNOT LEAVE A QUESTION UNANSWERED IT IS A PERSONAL FLAW)

  • Style w/ mortals: Armand doesn’t have sex with mortals unless he’s sharing them with Daniel. Armand wouldn’t kill these, he makes sure they get home safely.
  • Style w/ vampires: I would imagine that Armand was a generous lover with Louis, almost always the one to initiate. Currently he can be a bossy bottom, and likes it when his lovers initiate.
  • History: he was in brothels as a mortal, and it took him some time to learn to trust others. Marius was his first loving relationship, and Armand was rebellious then, seemingly unable to accept gentleness, because of his past.

Marius:

(I really should leave this to the Armand and Marius RPers)(BUT I CANNOT LEAVE A QUESTION UNANSWERED IT IS A PERSONAL FLAW)

  • Style w/ mortals: Marius has occasionally slept with the models he paints. He is always in control of anything that happens.
  • Style w/ vampires: Marius has occasionally slept with the models he paints. He is always in control of anything that happens.

  • History: We don’t have much canon support for Marius’ sexual history, but he did have a long term ship with Pandora in which he was unable to get it up on their wedding night but y’know, performance issues, it’s not uncommon. One out of five…

forev 21 but you look like you could go into a liquor store without having to show that id. im 22 and i look like im 14 imagine the stares. yes. you are a fuckton old. add the fuck a lot and it turns into fuckton. is the science of fuckery.

♛“Too bad that you’re trapped in the body of a child. I know ALL TOO WELL how frustrating that can be.”

“Okay now that I understand what a fuckton is, definitely a better word than a ‘shitload’ which I have also heard and really that’s not that much when you think about it as a real quantity, but yes, I am a fuckton old, and a fuckton wiser than I started out in this life.”

I actually just discussed the vampire asexuality question here.

TL;DR, my feeling is that Ricean vampires are asexual in canon, but fully sexual in fanon (fanfic, fanart, etc.). #Your headcanon may vary #Judge not, that ye be not judged.

… and then again, that all depends on your definition of sex ;]

I read somewhere in the chronicles that vampires can actually have sex? Just wondering if this is true?

[fanart by Garama]

Actually, in canon, they’re asexual. More on that here. BUT #your headcanon may vary, I’d be super impressed if anyone can show me a quote from canon that they can do it. (NOT Vittorio, bc he’s not included in any other VC, I think he’s a different species of vampire?).

I remember you saying something about how the vampires in the VC are asexal. What does that mean? Can they still have sex as vampires? Can they have sex with vampires and humans. This is something I’m curios about.

So this is a good question and I could spend entirely too long answering it but people don’t want to read a huge Wall of Text™©®. I’ll try to be concise.

The sharingz of BLOOD is all a Ricean vampire needs in terms of sexual interaction. This can be a fully clothed or naked

activity, or anywhere in between, and ppl sometimes forget that there is a major artery in the inner thigh called the Femoral Artery which makes for a very sexy place to bite…

BASICALLY your 2 main canon quotes re: asexuality are:

1. Lestat has this to say about his package:

“I studied my reflection … and the organ, the organ we don’t
need, poised as if ready for what it would never again know how to do
or want to do,
marble, a Priapus at a gate”
– Queen of the Damned

2. Pandora wants Marius to sex her up on their ‘wedding night’ and he can’t do it, but they try, awkwardly:

He covered me and kissed my cheek. “Drink from me,” he said, “drink until the pain goes away. It’s only the body dying, drink Pandora, you are immortal.“
"Fill me, take me,” I said. I reached down between his legs.
“It doesn’t matter now.”
But it was hard, this organ I sought, the organ forever lost to the god Osiris. I guided it, hard and cold as it was, into my body. Then I drank and drank, and when I felt his teeth again on my neck, when he began to draw from me the new mixture that filled my veins, it was sweet suckling, and I knew him and loved him and knew all his secrets in one flash which meant nothing.

He was right. The lower organs meant nothing.

He fed on me. I fed on him. This was our marriage.

Pandora

Also, there’s little mention in canon of vampire sex other than bloodsharing, so it’s assumed they don’t need it, bc they don’t procreate that way. New vampires are made by sharing blood.

In canon, human/vampire sex it basically non-penetrative, but that all depends on your definition of sex. Is fingering sex? vampires!Marius and Amadeo do that with mortal!Bianca, for example, and she seems very satisfied!

Keep in mind that #Your headcanon may vary, and this is why we have fanfic. Lots of ficwriters write them as fully sexual beings who can do it with vampires or humans.

There are some fics that suggest that human/vampire sex can be harmful to the human, since vampires are stronger in alot of different ways, and some fics suggest human/vampire sex is impossible (like Lois Lane/Superman, how does that even work does he destroy her? It is a mystery).

I saw that someone asked about Louis and Claudia’s “relationship” and that made me think of a scene in the book where Claudia basically asks Louis how it feels to have sex/make love. What do you think about that? I thought Claudia was kind of curious because she looks like a child bit really isn’t but at the same time she can’t experience anything an adult can do like have sex. What are your thought?

Yes we were just talking about that, I have a new tag for that kinda topic: To ship or not to ship. This is a huge topic but I will try to be concise.

Apparently in a alternate draft version of IWTV, Claudia finds a few young boy vampires in Paris and ends up leaving Louis for them. Would that have been better? Would she have had a sexual relationship with them, bc they alone shared her problem and could overcome it? I like to think so ❤

image

So in the actual book, with that scene… She gets Louis to share that sex “‘…was something hurried…And… it was seldom savored… something acute that was quickly lost. I think that it was the pale shadow of killing.’” It’s not clear whether he tells her that bc:

  1. it’s physically accurate (bc Ricean vampires cannot has penetrative sex with their equipment, therefore they’re all asexual)(that’s canon),
  2. he’s saying it so as not to hurt her feelings and make her feel like she’s really missing out, or
  3. he actually feels that way? Is killing so much better? Or did he really not enjoy mortal sex that much? THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS.

…of course in fanon, they do all have sexytimes, constant degenerate frackin, and Claudia knows damn well What They Do in the Shadows, and why they sign her up for all this tutoring, and she’s jealous as HELL but I digress…

Then, she says: (I’m paraphrasing) “Hurting you like I’m doing now, that is also a pale shadow of killing?”Louis admits that YES it is, and he pretty much bolts out the door at that point…which I think is especially powerful bc it implies he has admitted to her that she is fucking him with her words alone. And he does not like it. As much as he wants to please her, it is a clear rejection of her in that regard, yet again unu

gingerhairedimmortal, claudiaindarkness, might have opinions on this, too.

Hit the jump for unpopular opinions about Claudia, but basically, I think she could have experienced all the intimacy that the adult Ricean vampires experience, because they are asexual in canon, and instead share blood as their *~HIGHER~* form of intimacy. Unfortunately for her, Claudia never really had a relationship with anyone that wanted to do that with her ;A;

It’s worth mentioning that they auditioned about 100 little girls for the role in IWTV, and no 5-7 yr old could handle the part. With Kirsten Dunst (auditioned first), who I think was 11 at the time, it made Claudia’s frustration that of a tween, someone who is just about to hit puberty, very different physical and emotional stage than that of a 5 yr old. At 11, she is clearly too old to be treated like a doll, and it makes it that much harder for her to accept that she was just a few years away from having a passable adult body ;A;

Claudia really is an adult in a small body, just like any Little Person is. In Queen of the Damned, she has a diary entry, 9/21/1836, she’s at least 30 yrs old:

“This is my birthday present from Louis… I do not understand entirely what is meant by birthday. Was I born into this world on the list of September or was it on that day that I departed all things human to become this?”

Anyway, Little People do have active sex lives, otherwise why would we still have them around? Some even have relationships with non-Little People.

Specifically with Claudia, the issue remains that she looks like a child, so only another mortal child or an adult pedophile would even attempt to be sexual with her, both of which EW GROSS. I headcanon that Claudia enjoyed luring and killing pedophiles. She’s also capable of experiencing all the sensuality that comes with *~blood sharing~*, and her voracious appetite was partly because it was her only means of sexual gratification.

I think Claudia IS curious about sexuality, I think she’s passionate in many ways and wants a deeper connection (actual LOVE) w/ another soul, and alot of her frustration about her body is that she is denied that sexual intimacy. Sexual intimacy alone does not guarantee love and/or a deeper connection with another person, but don’t we all search for someone to understand us, someone we can share our innermost feels with? Or more than just one? In that sense the coven structure was really good for the Children of Darkness.

Claudia really had noone that she trusted that much. She only showed Louis her pain in glimpses and that was nearly too much for him. I think that Claudia felt that her body was the only obstacle in the pursuit of finding a kindred spirit, someone to truly love her more than as a daughter, but it was also her mind.

Do you think that if Claudia was turned at an older age like 18 or something that Louis would of slept with her?

BRACE YOURSELF FOR A WALL OF TEXT©®

(I assume you mean more than just unconscious sleep, which yes, he did sleep with her, that’s canon)

Y’know that’s smtg I’ve thought about, too. Was it only her body/age that was the obstacle there? She seemed to think so… or so it seems from what Louis shares with us re: just a few times when she even opened the subject with him.

[VC Louis mon Amour by Segomichoco, via talamascaaa]

Particularly that time in Europe when they had just killed the Icky Gross Mindless Vampire, and they’re totally exhausted and hungry, and she offers him her wrist:

“ `Drink,’ she whispered, drawing nearer. `Drink.’ And she held the
soft, tender flesh of the wrist towards me. ‘No, I know what to do;
haven’t I done it in the past?’ I said to her.”
<—- REJECTED. I don’t think Claudia shared blood w/ either Lestat or Louis, at least not in any intimate way, ever, which had to have been part of her not-growing-up frustration.

SO BACK TO THE QUESTION AT HAND:

No, I don’t think Louis would have slept with Claudia if she had been turned at 18+ bc there were more obstacles than just her physical form.

  • For one thing, Louis was in a relationship already with Lestat, even though it was a problematic one.
  • The chemistry between people (even IRL) has to work in that way for there to be any sexual attraction.
  • He always cared for her like a daughter. She was very much his own security blanket, a buffer and a glue between him and Lestat.
  • She was less human than either of them, which did not seem to be something that made her more attractive, but less comprehensible to him: ” `I love you now with my human nature, if ever had it,’ I said to her.
“ `Ah yes …’ she answered, still musing. `Yes, and that’s your flaw,
and why your face was miserable when I said as humans say, ” I hate
you, “ and why you look at me as you do now. Human nature. I have
    no human nature.’ ”
  • Also, in terms of canon vampire physiology, the Ricean vampires seem to be asexual, blood gives them all the satisfaction they need/want in that regard. It’s in fanon and RP that they’re sexual.

As a side note, claudiaindarkness might have some good opinions on this, bc she often RPs Claudia aged up. thevampire-claudia also had a thread in which Claudia was aged up and *ahem* had some private time with a Louis (merciful-death) if u need some tasteful au smut ;]

Dear Santa Lestat, I’ve been pretty good this year I think. I passed all my classes and even had a bit of a self discovery about my sexuality that I’m still working on. (I think I’m asexual), but it feels good to have somewhat of an idea in my head. I’d take whatever you feel like giving and pass my love onto the rest of the coven please! Happy Holidays!

♛Beth! Beth. You have been very good.

As I am a student of the savage garden, there are no walls to my classrooms, there are limitless teachers, other classmates, group projects well sometimes I assign work to David because it does make him feel useful, aside from being my punching bag. However, I am tested. Often. And not always in the manner or at the time I would prefer *snorts*

Merci, cherie, consider your love passed onto the coven, they are always flattered although they try not to show it that my adoring fans care for their well-being, too!

Your gift is a stroll along the East river in New York City, a flight up to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge to gaze upon the twinkling lights of one of my favorite cities in the world.

And a lifetime subscription to Cat Fancy, because you have cats!

As for your self discovery, that is wonderful! Does it feel as if a weight is being lifted? Asexuality is a very real orientation. After Louis’ book, many people asked Anne Rice our ghostwriter whether we were asexual as if it was a bad thing. Not just Louis and myself, but all vampires. The term is very specific… and I am certain that I have mentioned that certain features no longer “work” the same way after we are turned.

I defy definition as always. You may consider us asexual if it helps you.

I can tell you that whatever your definition of sex is (and it can be so much more than merely penetration), love is absolutely possible, nay, necessary. I am just realizing now that my search for goodness, doing good… these things are deeply rooted in a desire to be praised, but more than that, to be loved. Isn’t that what we all want? That first love you feel for your mother/parent is without language, it’s that simple.

Sex itself is an act of closeness, of allowing oneself to be vulnerable to another, to nurturing and satisfying that other person(s) (hey, there can be more than 2!). There’s a spectrum in that. You can be vulnerable and nurturing to others outside of sex, too.

*flashes her a smile, hops onto the window sill. Bows courteously and then takes to the air*

You know that Anne Rice’s vampires don’t have sex? They are basicly asexuals because they don’t feel lust for sex, only for blood.

I have read the series. I’m aware. For some reason, and it’s probably unintentional on your part, Anon, but it seeeeems like you have some kind of issue with this?

They still do feel sexual lust, it’s channeled through the experience of taking/sharing blood.

Alot of fanfic writers and VC RPers just ignore the canon asexuality and let the Ricean vampires have sex however they want. Some have very creative headcanons about it. I for one enjoy reading it.

In terms of VC CANON, however:

  • They’re asexual in that they aren’t described as having penetrative sex.
  • Unless your headcanon is that they do and they can, in which case Anne Rice decided to just leave it out for whatever reason. Some people think this is the case. *shrugs*
  • However… physiologically it would make sense that the Ricean vampires do not procreate in this manner because they procreate via the Dark Gift. At that time, the mortal body *dies*, transformed and frozen from further change/development. Male vampires would be shooting blanks (if they shoot anything at all) because they can’t make new sperm; female vampires wouldn’t be producing eggs, and wouldn’t have the organs to be able to grow a baby.

I think that reproductive obstacle is why Anne Rice made the choice that they could BE sexual, but not in a reproductive way.

Anon, the definition of sex is different for everyone who does it. The Ricean vampires can do tons of other very sensual/sexual things. Who says that a penis in a vagina (or anywhere else) is the only legitimate definition of sex? Sex cannot be totally defined by the dictionary definition, when it’s such a widely interpreted issue.
