I’m not there yet, such a busy week that I haven’t had much time to read PL. From what I’ve heard/read about him… it’s hard to take his entire existence seriously so I’m left with ambivalence.

Will report back later when I’ve gotten to it. Check back in the tag “iwantmyiwtv has opinions.”

I just wanted to reiterate to all the VC rp’ers and everyone else in the fandom, thank you for believing in and rescuing the characters from the questionable canon!

You’re right, we really need to be strong together in the face of this new book, thank u for reminding all the RPers that their writing keeps these characters alive and safe.

I’m the type who always needs to know and always starts the book looking at the last page. :D As a result few times I was crying while reading the whole book because I knew that e.g. main character dies in the end.

I know that feel. I used to do that. I am just not going to do it for this book, just to try it the other way!

We all know Lestat lives, bc there are 2-3 more books planned to follow this one.

But what does happen is so cracky… siiigh…

I’ve seen so much about the book on my dash! I’m so desperate to know; is it as good as the others? I’m so afraid of a “flop” novel. I don’t believe Anne Rice has ever written a “flop”, but it has been eleven years since Blood Canticle. Do you think it’s good so far?

I will answer this later… I haven’t had much chance to read it other than to read the spoilers I’ve seen around here (and from friends who I asked for spoilage from!)

From what I know so far, it is one of the crackiest books in the Vampire Crackicles ;A;

“I was the victim suddenly laid waste as if by a phallic god” Tell me that’s not a quote from the book..

She was JUST taking the stage when your message popped in, yes, I met her tonight at the booksigning! Full report to follow.

For now, I will report:

There will be 2-3 more books in the VC following Prince Lestat.
She’s got a meeting with Universal Studios and Imagine Entertainment re: Tale of the Body Thief and other book-to-movie adaptations in November.
She had asked Christopher to write the Tale of the Body Thief script on spec, for free, bc the attempts they had seen of any VC scripts were horrendous and they wanted to get it moving. Needless to say, his script was fabulous and that’s what started the wheels turning.
She has had the same editor for 40+ years and compared their relationship to a marriage.
