YES I want this bc of reasons! He deserved so much more out of that concert. I would suggest that the people behind the scenes look at footage of ACTUAL 80ās BANDS for reference on how to do Lestatās concert accurately.

Honestly tho, the soundtrack to IWTV was mostly orchestral, and I would imagine a re-do ofĀ that trainwreck of a movieĀ QotD would be more ā¦ modern rock? At least 80ās, because it takes place in 1985, IIRCā¦ more along the lines of the G ān RāsĀ Sympathy for the DevilĀ cover that plays at the end (which I still prefer to the original, because I heard this cover first!)
Or Bruce Springsteen. We know Lestat and Louis both love the Boss, donāt even try to convince me otherwise.Ā
Elliot Goldenthal did an amazing job on the IWTV soundtrack, especially in how he perfectly captured the different characters: humorous/upbeat pieces likeĀ Lestatās TarantellaĀ and the more quietly disturbingĀ Libera Me, etc.Ā
Side note: Speaking ofĀ The American Boychoir (they sung Libera Me), Iām reminded of the Vega ChoirāsĀ cover of Radioheadās CreepĀ for the Social Network. That was sorta along the same lines.Ā

ā Lestat here. Well, first of all, I must correct you, as you made a rather egregious misspelling of my āForever Companionā ās name. Louis with an āeā is in fact theĀ feminineĀ version of his name. Tsk tsk.
That aside, yes, if youāve read my books, you would be enriched with the knowledge that I have tried – several times – to make other companions. Always knowing that none could compare to him. Iāve made fleeting connections with othersā¦ David Talbot being someone I have plucked from the jaws of mortality to bring with me into the abyss of eternity, but even he and I never had the level of spark that lives between Louis and I whenever we are together. I can even feel it through his written words, even in the abbreviated communication of texting (and sexting when I can get him in the mood for it!) when we are apart.
It seems that Monsieur de Pointe du Lac is in fact, as the slang seems to go here, my “better half”, that we are an āOTPā. Itās not always rainbows and sparkles, as in any relationship, there are fights, there is space needed sometimesā¦ of course, passionate reconciliation is often well worth that!Ā We tear eachother to pieces, and fashion eachother to completion again.
So yes, he and I both have, from time to time, sought other companions. None have ever compared to what we have together.Ā
I am sure that he would respond to your question similarly, albeit more concisely.

Who’s your favourite charactor of IWTV, mine is Santiago, it’s bad that he isn’t that much in the movie cause he’s awesome.
Yāknow I have to give you some credit for choosing Santiago bc he does not get nearly enough attention. Yes heās a terrible, awful, monster, but he was a great character, a fantastic actor, a cruel antagonistā¦ it takes some effort to be that evil!
I suspectĀ and there is a secret fanfic that supports this theoryĀ that Santiago considered himself 2nd-in-commandĀ and maybe moreĀ to Armand, and he felt himself very usurped when Louis came into the picture, and had it in for Louis from the first moment Armand made heart-eyes at Louis.Ā
Santiago deserved some decent backstory.Ā

MY favorite character of IWTVā¦ thatās tough. In terms of the movie I think all of the actors (even Antonio!!!) did a fantastic job with their roles. Iād go with Claudia only because she was just the perfect mix of sweetness and icy screamy-ness and just had Louis wrapped around her little finger.Ā

In book!IWTV itās Lestat whoās my faveā¦ How can you not love him with this combination (and more!) of character traits: Charismatic, mixing silly with sinister, mysteriously hinting at a rich and traumatic backstory (which we definitely got later), and of course, lastly, intensely handsome.Ā

I doubt it will have any really good extras but one can still hope bc we deserveĀ new cast interviews at the very least! There was so little of that on the original DVD ;A;Ā
Speaking of VC News: AR was at ComicCon recently (July I think) which is suspiciousā¦ does she want to do a new graphic novel? Did anyone here see her, or know what she was doing there other than looking pretty and signing things?Ā

I have a tag mentioning fanfic thatās more about fanfic than actually sharing links because we donāt want CERTAIN PEOPLE knowing where the fanfic is because those people like to sue fanfic authors and so itās generally frowned upon to share links to fanfic, unless you are the author.
HOWEVER, an exception to this isĀ AO3. Great IWTV and VC fanfic. AUs and crossovers! Ao3 defends their authors on real legal grounds, soā¦ thatās a start.

Why everybody hate benji? I need valid reasons!!
Umā¦ so many reasonsā¦ and I havenāt read that book in awhile so Iām not the best resource for this. The fandom tends to hate on Benji bc:
- Heās a shameless Gary Stu
- Heās a child, maybe 12? Marius knows better (without spoiling anything, Iāll leave it at that).
- He smokes (not a character FLAW per se, but it seemed to be a cheap way to make him look ātough kidā or whatever)
- Emotionally/intellectually heās flawless! Heās such an angelic person! He can do no wrong! Such characters are inherently unlikable maybe bc we canāt suspend disbelief for someone so PURE OF HEART.Ā
- The way he talks seems oddly teenage? I remember someone saying that as a complaint.
Mostly we hate him because (and this can all be applied to Sybelle equally) ofĀ his existence, how he came into Armandās life, and what happened to him seemed wildly out of the VC universe and out of character for everyone involved.
