I had a few earlier posts where I suggest him for Nicolas or Louis, but Santino actually is a much better choice. Peter Steele could have been an amazing coven master.

I heard that IWTV wasn’t supposed to have a sequel/be a series. Which is why QOTD was released so much later. have u heard anything about that?
Whether you mean the movie or book series, it’s true that VC began its life as a short story which AR expanded into the first novel [X]. After it received so much positive feedback, there was a sequel, and then another, and then another, and here we are with a whole series!
The IWTV movie took something like 20 yrs in production and talks and film industry issues before it could finally get made. The homosexuality and the whole pseudo-pedophilia edge (Louis biting Armand’s Denis, Claudia in general) also made the story and casting extremely difficult.
At one point, I think Tom Cruise had the rights, and was down for making a sequel to IWTV, but I think the homophobic backlash pretty much turned him off the project 😦 It just seemed to ruin any sequels from happening for awhile.
Movie!QOTD was released in 2002, and iirc, doesn’t have much of the controversial issues that were in movie!IWTV, and is almost a stand-alone story due to how much it distorted canon, but some ppl really love it and find it nostalgic anyway!

also River Phenix’ bff (at least till the perf daniel died) was Keanu Reeves who is pretty much Louis and it hurts the hell out of me how much Keanu is a life Louis (maybe not very much in looks but the voice, aethetic & personailty)

What an interesting ship that could have been, too. Daniel could have brought out Louis’ sense of humor, which he DOES have. Daniel basically did ask Louis to turn him and got majorly rejected. Louis was only interested in a kayak for one at that time, or to draw Lestat out from wherever he was by painting him as a horrible monster to provoke him into breaking out a can of whoop-ass or correct the record, or both.
I see Keanu more as Khayman, tho, physically.
Has anyone else suggested that James Marsden would make a fantastic Lestat? His face is pure joy – those eyes! That slightly too-large and super expressive mouth! Perfect cinnamon roll TVL Lestat y/n? (Also, hello, I am still figuring out this tumblr thing but there is VC fandom and this blog which also makes me v. happy :D)

James Marsden omg yasss. His attitude is perfect. You’re very right about the eyes, the smile. Just gotta bleach and style his hair. He already looks great in period costume (ok Enchanted was exaggerated but still, velvet, lace, etc.)
He needs really good lighting for his eyes to be that crystal blue.
Bc in other shots, they look much darker. But that can work, too.
