Is there any notorious fics in VC fandom? Like the famous Milk fic, the Chair fic etc. like other fandoms have?
Nobody writes VC fanfic are u crazy? Pfffffffft….
I think different ppl would consider different fics “notorious” but as for my own “notorious” list, we still keep those hidden. Our fandom experienced a war on fanfic like no other, and many great works were lost forever ;A; The few notorious fics that remain, well… you have to earn the trust of someone who knows where they are bc altho AR’s stance has changed (in that she tolerates the existence of fanfiction), it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t change her mind and slam writers with legal action at some other time.
I’d love to just link things out here so that ppl can enjoy them but I can’t :-
However, here’s a post in which I put links to some of my faves that I feel are in a pretty safe place, and a few of those may be considered “notorious.”
Hello i have read the first book of iwtv series n i want to read the prince lestat do i have to read any book before in order to follow w the story?
AR wrote Prince Lestat almost as a stand-alone book and lots of ppl seem to be coming into the fandom from that book without reading IWTV even… which is fine, and more power to them!
But IDK, I always tell ppl that they’ll get a lot more out of the series if you read the Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned first, bc her characters and storytelling were so strong and passionate in those books in a way that many ppl feel that Prince Lestat lacked.
Look I don’t like all of the books but I’ve read them all in order, partly bc I didn’t have a choice when I was younger and had to wait for them one-by-one, but also bc that’s the order in which AR explored the stories herself.
