ooc; Bring your booze and munchies, because we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary this weekend with an Interview with the Vampire rewatch.
I’ll be livestreaming Interview with the Vampire on Saturday, November 15 @ 7PM Central Standard Time/8PM Eastern Standard Time. I’ll post the link to the stream probably at 6:50-ish.
Because Skype calls make things fun, if you’re wanting to participate in that along with the movie, please hit me up with your Skype name and I’ll add you into a group. If you’re not so into that, there’s a nifty text chat on Livestream too.

“‘This is the one?’ said Santiago, thrusting me forward.
"But Lestat turned sharply to him and said in a harsh low voice,’I told you I wanted Claudia, the child! She was the one!’ And now I saw his head moving involuntarily with his outburst, and his hand reaching out as if for the arm of a chair only to close as he drew himself up again, eyes to me.
…“‘She did it to me, Louis. She did it to me. You didn’t! She has to die’ said Lestat, his voice becoming thin, rasping, as if it were an effort for him to speak.’”
From The Vampire Lestat:
"Get clothing for him,” Armand said. His hand was resting on my shoulder. “He must look presentable, our lost lord,” he told them. “That was always his way.” …
“You will say what I have told you to say.”
It was a mob tribunal of monsters, white-faced demons shouting accusations, Louis pleading desperately, Claudia staring at me mute, and my saying, yes, she was the one who did it, yes, and then cursing Armand as he shoved me back into the shadows, his innocent face radiant as ever.
“But you have done well, Lestat. You have done well.”
Warner needs to release a new blu-ray transfer with lossless audio and extras including deleted scenes right now.

I’m so excited for this because remcovanstraten and I approached the Strand Arts Centre with the idea and they jumped at it – now we’re hoping to get the word out to as many fans as possible, so if you can share this we’d really appreciate it.
I don’t know many VC fans locally, but I bet there’s more of us lurking in the shadows – if this sounds like a great night out to you, all the info you’ll need is here:

Re: the 20th Anniversary Bluray, Yes! I am aware. Thank you for thinking of me though, bc I found out about Prince Lestat through Tumblr, soooo IF THERE IS ANY VC NEWS I WANNA BE INFORMED IMMEDIATEMENT. After all, part of the purpose of this blog is sharing VC News ^_____^
I doubt it will have any really good extras but one can still hope bc we deserve new cast interviews at the very least! There was so little of that on the original DVD ;A;
Speaking of VC News: AR was at ComicCon recently (July I think) which is suspicious… does she want to do a new graphic novel? Did anyone here see her, or know what she was doing there other than looking pretty and signing things?
I just watched the director’s commentary section on the IWTV dvd and there seems to be some additional scenes
YES there are additional CUT SCENES and it is a sore subject among the fandom. And Warner Bros/Geffen doesn’t seem to be interested in releasing a 20th Anniversary edition with those scenes as extras *pouts*
Here’s some tags with pics you won’t find in the movie because they’re production stills or cut scenes (or unused shots from scenes that did make it into the movie, or I couldn’t tell the difference so I tagged it as both). Siiiigh.
There are little bits in the original trailer that have these, for example:
- a few seconds’ snippet of a Theatre des Vampires stage performance
- Louis saying something like, “I can’t take this anymore” to camera
- Lestat saying something like, “I never knew what life was until it ran out in a red gush on my lips.”
I think Neil Jordan also specifically mentions some things but I haven’t watched the director commentary in a loooong time.
I haven’t seen this outfit before, is this a still from a cut scene?! It wasn’t from the other scene Lestat has a cane (this one, one of their last happy moments as a family… ♥)
What I would give for those cut scenes… WARNER BROS./NEIL JORDAN/WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE: PLZ TO BE GIVING US A 20TH ANNIVERSARY DVD/BR RELEASE OF IWTV W/ ACTUAL CUT SCENES AND SPECIAL FEATURES IN NOVEMBER THIS YR!

Seriously, see my tag: maybe we should try to get something trending on social media – combined with directly contacting Neil Jordan, Geffen, WB, whoever… if they don’t already have plans, they’re obviously not going to turn something around this fast, but they need to see there’s a market out there that would jump all over this.
YES YES YES THIS THIS THIS. They have almost 8 months, and the footage is lying around SOMEWHERE. I believe the phrase is SIGNAL BOOST.
