I can’t remember when, but Lestat specifically mentioned that vampires are adept at figuring tech out, it’s one of their gifts (synapses firing on more cylinders than mere mortals?) + their advantage being students of mankind and tech evolution.

So, on what substantially literary grounds have I been so affectionately snarky about Lestat’s difficult relationship with technology all this time? Oh the harm I caused!

Ahh Blood Canticle and Blackwood Farm, probably.  Heh

Those, probably, yes. Snark is always welcome, tho, Lestat would probably agree that #Any attention, even bad, is better than no attention #Lestat de LimelightHog.

I think there is some iPhone-related adoration & frustration mentioned (which I headcanon away as being Lestat frustrated at other things and merely scapegoating onto his phone), and also Lestat’s seeming insistence on using WordStar to write each of his memoirs long after it was outdated? I think?

Its funny, I was very “leather and lace” in high school, I wore the frills, lacey scarves and gloves and sleeves, feathered details, but always wore this black motorcycle jacket over it, and matching boots under the skirt, and that clip in the film of Lestat tugging the lace to show out of the sleeves of his jacket is one of those iconic fashion moments for me.

omg you must’ve looked wickedly cool. It’s an excellent combo. The girlier the lace, the grungier the leather, the better.

Re: it being an iconic moment: Oh I agree! It’s one of his most iconic moments in the movie, for sure, specifically bc it relates to fashion and a little bit about just being comfortable; bc when sleeves are bunched up like that it limits your range of motion, not good for driving but i digress. AND because we can see his hands are back to normal, he’s definitely feeling better already, and ready for another adventure… with Daniel this time!

I am sorry but what is a blood vivicanti

I actually don’t know! Purposely. Ignorance is bliss. I’m just grateful we haven’t suffered a crossover of BV/VC.

I’m gonna redirect you to hyperbeeb, who is taking one for the team and reading the first one in the- has read the first one and is now reading the whole series?! Her tag for this journey into madness is #Mary reads the blood vivicanti

Wrath

merciful-death:

Wrath: a headcanon about your character and their anger management

ooc; Louis is super passive aggressive.  He’s very pretentious and always tries to keep up this courteous image, so when he doesn’t like someone, he very rarely comes out with it.  He’s more likely to just make subtle hints at the fact that he dislikes/is angry at someone, particularly with people he’s not super invested in.

He generally lets his anger exist on a slow simmer below the surface, but Lestat’s an exception.  Lestat can work him up very fast, and while he’ll play the passive aggressive game with him as well (ie: responding to texts with just smiley faces or one-worded replies, ignoring him around the house), he also has no problem speaking his mind to him.  He loves when Lestat asks him if he’s angry of if something is wrong, since it gives him an excuse to go off, if it’s a non-major issue.  If it’s something he’s really peeved about, he has no issue skipping the passive aggression and just going for gold.  Their fights can be really explosive.

He doesn’t get in a rage very often, but when he’s really angry, he’s very quiet, cold, and calculating.  He will ruin you lol.  Probably in a fire.

Ouch but picture going through eternity with a sightly uneven, shorter-than-you-wanted haircut. Imagine this kind of pain! D:

THAT REALLY WOULD BE omg. I’d be like, “Hold up, can you come back when this haircut has grown out? It’s really… not a style that can stand the test of time, lol.”

Or like, for dudes, beard grizzle? Or lack of beard grizzle…. clean-shaven for eternity with no ability to grow one’s own hipster-beard EVER. We should be grateful Lestat was such. I can’t picture him w/ any kind of facial hair, ewwww.

I imagine Louis purposely shaved on his last day (tho he probably didn’t know it wouldn’t grow back; it’s doubtful that Lestat gave him that level of detail), he had the time to prepare, but they don’t always. Alot of Ricean vampires are turned on short notice, no clean-up time available.
