I was still sitting there staring at the entrance to the tunnel when I heard fast crisp steps approaching, someone walking steadily, heavily and fast.
“Get up, Lestat.”
I turned and looked up into the face of my mother.
There she was after all these years in her old khaki safari jacket and faded jeans, her hair in a braid over her shoulder, her pale face like a porcelain mask.
“Come on, stand up!” she said, those cold blue eyes flashing in the lights of the burning building at the mouth of the tunnel.
And in that moment as love and resentment clashed with humbling fury, I was back at home hundreds of years ago, walking with her in those cold barren fields, with her haranguing me in that impatient voice. “Get up. Move. Come on.”
“What are you going to do if I don’t?” I snarled. “Slap me?”
And that’s what she did. She slapped me.

Heyyyy thanks for the compliments ♥u♥ You just saw the movie 2 wks ago?! omg wow you are very fresh blood for the fandom. Yummmm. Lestat has claimed another victim. If I may suggest, read the book. Let the movie be your gateway drug to the WHOLE SERIES *evil laughter*
Your murder families thing is hilarious! I love Hannibal/Lestat crossover action. Please do moar! Here’s one of mine:
the reason why i didn’t post this before is that i have no pics of it (this was taken by abnormaland) bc i was ill af n all the pics i took sucked
Wow incredible, god how cool would it be to be in New Orleans and turn the corner and they walk by — it would be amazing! Love all the detail, just beautiful.
Physically I think he works, look at this smooth operator (we don’t need the context to know he is artfully cranking up the charm here):
Shirtless pic bc of reasons is this why ppl ask me about my casting opinions? You just want me to google these guys shirtless jfc don’t you: EDIT: Actually an anon informs me this one is Sam Heughan, but I’m leaving it here bc of reasons:
And his smile (necessary to the character) even has good dimple action,
but then, when I checked out a video, I feel like his voice is really low for Lestat:
Idk maybe he going for a lower register in this vid for a reason, but I see him more as Augustin or a young Lestat’s dad bc of that low voice.
*u* You’re welcome! It was actually really cool to collect my fave VC cosplayers in a nice masterpost. Agreed, the great dramatic/srs cosplayers are truly gorgeous. It does add something authentic when they choose their settings well.
Thanks! *u* You want my opinion on cosplay? Hmmmm *cracks knuckles*
Cosplay, for me, isn’t just about the looks, it’s also in the attitude. So if someone’s eyes aren’t the shade as described in the book it’s not a dealbreaker. I think I prefer silly/parody cosplays because it’s so hard to achieve the serious dramatic quality one gets with the added $$$, experienced professionals of cinematography, costume design, lighting, etc., that the film industry relies on when making films. When you aim for silly/parody, it’s truly more about the performance than the physical look.
That said, here’s an example I like of everyman as Lestat:
I think it works! Looking at his other pics, he’s really gone to great lengths to recreate scenes/relationships, and he’s got good Lestatuesque body language and attitude.
As for the Louis, yeah, in most of the pics he seems #ooc, but I think ^this expression is excellent! He’s got the “Lestat omfg STOP” just under his dignified veneer. Nice sharp French features, great outfit, looks like the right age. He could even work as Nicolas. If only this guy worked as well in his front angle as his profile *siiiigh*.
Melodysknight as Lestat gets massive points for also playing the IWTV pieces.
I have a cosplay tag if you want more, but for now (in no special order):
Aaaaand have a terrible Louis cosplay by Daniel Tosh, but I don’t think he was going for accuracy (had to include at least one more male cosplayer here, what can I say, female cosplayers just seem to do it better!):
