For this to work, you have to assume both Armand and Louis are ignoring Lestat really hard.

Lestat sounds like the kind of guy to become a Jerry Springer fan and contemplate inviting Louis and himself to the show. Maybe get Armand dragged in as well [We all know Lestat makes the most reasonable and thought-out decisions ever. Really].
Not sure about Armand’s willingness to be dragged into that circus, but this would be especially useful re: all the fledglings Lestat’s accused of making on a regular basis…

[As they walk out together]
Lestat: “SEEEEE? I can, in fact, keep my wrists in their sleeves on occasion. REALLY.”
Louis: “So it would seem, on this occasion.”
Lestat: “You’re not going to drag me back on this show next week with a new batch of accusations, are you?”
Louis: “Are you going to give me reason to do so?”
Lestat: “No, of course not! Maybe. Probably. BTW Did I tell you about this new musician I met? He is amazing…“
Louis: *sighs*
I was scrolling through your posts when I saw a production still of Louis wearing that coat he wears when he and Claudia arrive in Paris and he’s in a cemetery, maybe a cemetery in Paris? Is there any explanation for this production still? I’ve never seen it before.
That is a fabulous coat.

[X] Possibly a teensy ref to Lestat’s fur-lined cloak in TVL? Not fluffy enough to be wolf, but hopefully fake fur for the movie.
This is the image you referred to (it appears that he’s wearing the same coat with jacket underneath as in the screencap above):

I don’t know of any cemeteries that have multiple levels like that, what is that, stadium seating?, definitely not in NOLA (at least one of the cemeteries in NOLA is that crowded tho). There is a scene in one version of the script (thanks @thesaramonster!) that mentions a graveyard in Transylvania of course, when Claudia and Louis are on their own, searching for other vampires:
MONTAGE OF SKETCHES
A TRANSLYVANIAN VILLAGE, A GRAVEYARD.
RUINED CASTLE AFTER CASTLE, LOOKING INTO THE SKIES…
LOUISThe quest for these Old World
vampires filled me with bitterness.
We searched village after village,
ruin after ruin andI was glad when
always we found nothing. For what
could the damned really have to say
to the damned?
^So I don’t think Neil Jordan tried to include the scene in the book where they find and kill a zombpire, but that production still might have been sort of a reference to it.
But it’s especially sad that Louis still has that coat after Claudia’s been killed ;A;
Can you imagine how painful it would have been, returning to the hotel room he shared with Claudia, all her clothes and accessories exactly as they were when she left it last? ;A;

hello! how are you? i absolutely loove your blog! i’m kinda new to the fandom, so if you don’t mind, can you recommend me some vampire chronicles blogs you like?
Merci beaucoup! I’m good. Glad you asked this bc I haven’t done one of these in a year.
Welcome to our little corner of tumblrland, as I always say. Good to have fresh blood, pun intended of course.

Here are some blogs that reblog a bunch of IWTV stuff. i’m not sure about the others, but the first two make gifsets, sometimes photosets, text posts etc 🙂
honestly i dont even play an active role in my life shit just happens and im like oh is this what we’re doing now ok [X]
I read the first three books, can I go right into Prince Lestat or is there more I need to know? (I read the synopsis for every book; because I have some sensitivities to certain topics, such as the first part of the Vampire Armand). I heard that Prince Lestat is a stand alone, and the inside hook indicates such. If I could I would read the entire series but due to triggers and my eight hour school day I don’t have the time. Sorry to rant, I just want to know what’s what
Sure, go on to PL! I hope you have more of an appreciation for the main characters since you know their background. I sympathize with your time constraints.
Prince Lestat CAN be considered a stand alone, AR said herself it can be treated like that. It’s just so stand alone that I consider it very Alternate Universe. You’ll see what I mean.

*sigh* It’s so strange that ppl want to rush to PL, but I guess it’s bc it’s the currently newest VC and the upcoming book is a sequel to it.
As far as triggering elements, there are some in PL. I won’t spoil you directly but I’ll just toss in some questionnable categories of things I remember being in PL (this is not all-inclusive, I may have forgotten a few bc I read it almost 2 years ago and I can’t read it again yet):
- An emotionally abusive relationship between a female college student and a male adult authority figure
- Other abuse of that female college student that she suffered as a child (not sexual but physical and emotional)
- Body horror (sort of?)
- Gorey moments (one involving a few amputations, one involving brains, some murder bc VAMPIRES)
- Lestat in a non-consensual blood-related attack moment (but he doesn’t get away with it unpunished)
- Weird ghost-related happenings
- Arson (*cough* Louis *cough*)
- Drug-addicted parent (briefly)
- Vampires & Science
- A sexual situation involving Vampires & Science
- A choir of underaged boy vampires
I thought the book was called “an interview with the vampire”, like, what

Regarding the whole interview with the/a vampire: please look up th mandele effect
I’ve heard of this term, Mandela Effect, seen it in discussion re: the Berenstain Bears, for sure.
But really? All these ppl misremembering the title? Or was it more like this:

The Mandela Effect
“The Mandela Effect is a collective misremembering of a fact or event. Various theories have been proposed to explain what causes it, some more sensible than others.”
That might be it. Idk, I feel like I’m not really affected by this bc I am so obsessed with it that I never misremember it. It seems like ppl who say Interview with “a” Vampire are either:
A) Purposely saying it wrong bc it sounds slightly amusing wrong (it kinda does!);
B) It really might have been translated that way in their native language;
C) They’re really not as into the series in general so it doesn’t matter whether they have a word wrong;
D) Or, other. Including the Mandela Effect.
So romantic [X]
