Chris Evans I see more as Daniel Molloy, don’t you think? Yeah, he has a Roman enough face/build for a young Marius but Marius is not likely to get a movie before Lestat does.
But hey, I wouldn’t stand in the way of Evans doing a screen test as Lestat *u* He is almost too muscular for my taste, but I’ll deal with it, somehow, lol.
So apparently I will have to watch this movie bc I just saw Mr. Personnaz on my dash earlier today and thought, “hmmmm, Nicolas de Lenfent?” and then this gif w/ him + in period costume + a shirtless long-haired Gaspard Ulliel (who I have mentioned as an option for Lestat de Lioncourt) + they appear to be in bed together and well… you do the math.
Innnnteresting choice, I don’t know her work, only just googled her, but I’d screen test Sherri Saum! She does NOT look like she’s 40. I don’t remember how old Merrick was supposed to be, but I like the idea of her as a Real Adult Woman since she has to seduce Louis, and he was turned at 24, IIRC, so that could be very hawt, a slightly older lady, not yet a cougar, bewitching a younger man. We don’t see enough of that.
^She has some solid sass in the vids and gifs I saw, that’s for sure, which is a necessary component to Merrick. Superficially she is gorgeous and I love her hair! Such great volume.
^Great smile, too *u* She can already wrap you around her finger w/o resorting to Voo Doo, probably.
Y’know, I’ve seen him in the MCU movies and not a lot else, so when I googled him just now I was pleasantly surprised to find these… and yes, I definitely agree!
Difficulty: I bet he is SO FRICKIN EXPENSIVE NOW like damn!
^Late night drinking w/ Lestat in the tavern.
^When his mood has been significantly improved and he’s like, “Let me show you some new fingering I worked out…”
As usual, I gotta say that it’s not JUST about appearance, so I’m open to suggestions, and it would need to be someone who can make the transition between mortal and vampire really well.
THAT SAID: I would be looking for someone close to their 20’s, or looks like it, with luscious dark hair, A+ artist brooding skills, a smile that can melt your heart, and an almost feral edge, this is not your boy-next-door, but someone w/ razor sharp wit ever at the ready to stab you with, but he keeps it back as much as he can. Leashed cruelty.
Major plus if they can play violin, too, bc I know ppl are going to be watching their damn fingering and will criticize them up and down, even if they get training with it, bc violinning is such a huge part of that character.
Some ideas (in no particular order), and there are more in my #Nicolas de Lenfent tag, I’m just picking some favorites here:
Regarding the Nicki audio, it’s originally from an interview given to a french channel by ballet dancer Jonathan Klein, who took part in a french talent show competition around 2012. You can find the video the audio was taken from here: https://you tu.be/Rwl21dY2934
[And it was paired with an image that appears to be of model Tomek Szczukiecki][so maybe it’s him?]
Sorry to tell ya that I DON’T KNOW WHO THE AUDIO IS FROM ;A; AND THE ORIGINAL POST DIDN’T TAG HIM, EITHER. @devilsviolinist was the original poster and I’m not sure if that mun is active… try asking them and report back if you find out.
“…when I was twelve, and the old parish priest, who had taught me some poetry by rote and to read an anthem or two in Latin, wanted to send me to school at the nearby monastery.
My father said no, that I could learn all I needed in my own house…
My father was angry and reminded [my mother] that if this had happened before he went blind, his will would have prevailed surely. My brothers assured him that his youngest son wouldn’t be gone long. I’d come running home as soon as I was made to do something I didn’t want to do.
Well, I didn’t come running home. I loved the monastery school.
…Within a month I declared my vocation. I wanted to enter the order… frankly I thought my father would be glad to be rid of me.
But three days later my brothers arrived to take me home with them. I cried and begged to stay, but there was nothing the Father Superior could do.” – The Vampire Lestat
