If you’ve ever read my books, you know I maintain relationships merely because I’ve been lucky enough to find people who don’t throw me away when I reveal myself to be a complete and utter disaster who will sabotage everything we have if given half the chance. I’m a terrible person to give relationship advice.
So here, based on my own failings:
-Say you’re sorry. Mean it.
-But don’t say it all the time.
-Seriously, it loses all meaning.
-Even if you ARE sorry.
-No, sex with that other person isn’t worth it. Yes, I see how good looking they are. Trust me.
-Find ways to show love: notes, trinkets, kisses. Something to show that they are on your mind.
-But not gifts you’d rather just have for yourself, you idiot.
-Don’t buy them a house unless they asked for one.
-Don’t trick them into having children with you because you are afraid they’ll leave you.
-Don’t entrap them.
-Seriously, that one is never going to turn out the way you hope it will.
-Tell the truth. Even when it makes you look terrible.
-Trust them. Yes, especially when you don’t want to trust anyone.
-Tell them the things that scare you about yourself. If they are who you think they are, they can hold them for you.
-Know that they love you, even when they are so angry at you that they can’t bear to look at you.
-Say I love you. Yes, it’s going to hurt. Do it anyway.
“You forgot the most important point.
Allow yourself be loved. No matter how wretched and undeserving you feel.”

“Listen Louis. There’s life in these old hands still. Not quite Furioso. Moderato? Cantabile, perhaps…”
This was such a fun shoot to do! I always try to do one intense makeup look around Halloween and I really wanted to recreate Lestats swamp form from Interview with the Vampire, hope you like it!!
“What a beautiful movie! Being in love with vampire stories since my childhood, I’ve read quite a few of Anne Rice’s books over the years, and of course watched the big-screen version. I don’t know what inspired me more for this – the book or the movie. Probably both. I used A4 Lomond Matt Photopaper (not the photo side), Rotring mechanical pencils B, 2B and kooh-i-noor pencils 2H-8B”
“I am inspired by people, so different, beautiful, interesting, mysterious, bright, talented. Drawing allows you to see them closer, try to guess the character, to convey mood, emotion. If it works – a portrait alive, looking at it you can see the spark in his eyes and painted soul of the artist”.
No one asked for this (well someone sorta did but they’re on hiatus, sadly), I had made these ‘shops bc RDJ might have played Lestat ages ago (article from 2009, I think), and so I wanted to ‘shop him into place, and this is what happened. The middle one is the cleaned version, the other 2 were WIPs, anyway, HAVE IT. I happened on this file today and felt like someone might appreciate it.
“…Now it looks is though RDJ has his eyes on Twilight moms.
According to Bloody Disgusting, Robert Downey Jr. is almost done closing a deal to take over the highly coveted role of Lestat, the head honcho vampire of a reboot adaptation of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. For those who don’t remember, the role of Lestat has already been played by Stuart Townshend in Queen of the Damned and Tom Cruise in the vastly superior Interview with the Vampire. It’s not yet known how this new series will take place, as there are 10 Anne Rice novels, but if it’s a reboot, it’s safe to assume that they’ll be starting up with the first novel, Interview with the Vampire.
It’s not big news at all that Universal Pictures is deciding to reboot this franchise at this time. Vampires are huge, and a Robert Downey Jr. vampire? Well, that’s just good business. With the right director and a good screenplay (Yo Guillermo, how about you take some time off those lame Hobbit movies and get on this?), this could definitely be something to look forward to, but with a great adaptation of Interview already out there in the world, I hope they let that one go and start with The Vampire Lestat.
