Wow, good rec, anon! Got the aesthetic down, the right amount of candles, locket w/ a girl’s face in it, torches! Angsting, damp, long-haired brunet men in period costume! And a violin too! Nice.

Ooooh good question! In IWTV, Louis says that he did visit Lestat (and it was in the movie).

We have #unreliable narrators and it’s hard to say whether it happened, or happened in a different way than described…
They do agree that Lestat was in hiding and pretty decrepit. Louis describes Lestat as being holed up in some crumbling old house some short distance away from their old Rue Royale flat, which Lestat does confirm in TVL:
“And I spent the last years of the 1800s in complete seclusion in the old Garden District a block from the Lafayette Cemetery, in the finest of my houses, slumbering beneath towering oaks.”
I answered it more in depth on this post, in which I said that I trusted Louis’ account. Lestat refusing to kill a baby would be in character for him. That Louis would invent this just whole scene to provoke Lestat out of hiding is less in character for him, but possible. He did leave a lot out, and leaving out information is lying by omission.
Your headcanon may be that it happened, and someone else’s may be that it didn’t. Even if AR says one way or the other, there are readers who will still hold onto their own headcanon. #Your headcanon may vary on this one.
Merciii! @wicked-felina (aka Rebness) and I are loving writing it!
Armand is gonna join in on the fun soon, and he has a good role to play, well, at least, good information to share.

(If you missed my post about it last night, here it is… enjoy!)
♛Do the thing! Why not write to her? If you’re so close with your cousin, I can tell you that visits and letters can mean the world to someone who is otherwise cut off from it, whether by their own choice or not.
Perhaps what she did was in fact “okay” given her circumstances at the time. Could have been self-defense, or defense of someone who needed it. You might consider drawing out more of the facts in your letters with her.
Whether she’s scary or not, and whatever her level of guilt, if you care about her, keep the connection. You can always stop when you have more information.

That’s the kind of reaction I love seeing! I’m sure AR would be very happy w/ your reactions, too ;]
As for fanart of “Lestat said that he and Louis would act out Shakespeare for Claudia. Best vampire dads ever” yes we do always need more but enjoy THIS:

[I can’t answer this w/o the ask itself already being a spoiler, but tbh I’m not really as worried about spoiling ppl re: this book bc C’MON we all know alot of the spoilery stuff by now!]
Tbh my reading of PLROA has stalled again ;A; I’m sorry! It’s worth it tho, as I may or may not be furiously working on a Coffeeshop AU w/ one of my absolute fave ficwriters behind the scenes…
From what I understand, yes. We have an Angry Birds situation, that’s where all the pain and suffering on earth comes from.

Lol that was a wild ride… there are alot of Lestats out there…

♛I would say that the resemblance is uncanny… in more ways than one. Yes, budding youth, handsome, blue eyes and blond hair. Even the expression in the painted portrait we see of Prince Adam is a familiar expression of mine *winks*
I relate deeply to that story. If I’m the Beast, and I’m constantly swooning over Louis’s slightest glance at me, does that make him Beauty? Probably.

As much as I do praise myself (and others do, as well!) to the high heavens for my looks… Being at home in my own body has been, and still is, a constant a struggle. It’s a love-hate relationship with the mirror. As often as I say it, the impact remains the same: my reflection has startled me on more than one occasion, it’s depressed me, it’s made me almost lose the will to live. There were times that I couldn’t look in a mirror. I wouldn’t wish that feeling on my worst enemy.
There is a real horror in what we are, hosts to a vampiric parasite. That moment of awakening, that first breath after the change. Beautiful and monstrous all in one. And each time I survive something and my reflection shows me something close to what I was before all this happened, that’s a small comfort.

(2) Granted, the creator of Black Butler, Yana Toboso, clearly loves the gothic because the manga and the anime adaption (the movie… not quite as much) are both drenched in gorgeous, dark, Victorian aesthetics, and the storylines deal with heavy, twisted events and demons and reapers and rich fineries all over the place and slick, otherworldly people, etc. So I would not be surprised if she’s ever been a reader of the Rice. Especially since she apparently likes vampires, too.
I don’t watch the series but I’ve seen gifs and fanart for it, and I like the style! I think you summarized it very well so I won’t try to add to your description, just nod and agree, based on what I’ve seen ;]
This
Ciel Phantomhive (the younger-looking character in this gif) does seem to remind me of Armand. Not identical in appearance, being 12, but the whole vertically-challenged aspect, and looking like a child/teen compared to the others, and the general fiestiness xD

If we had a VC animated series, I would want it to have the kind of aesthetics you mention for BB, and dip into the silly animation now and then, like this one character gnawing on the other here:

^Lestat noms on anyone w/ a space to nom on ❤ Resistance is futile!
Omg… I am… so flattered that my blog was in your dreams! But also embarrassed bc it was about the long-awaited update! I am super flattered that you browse my archive that much, you’ve made my day for sure ;D

Ok, I really need to get that done… I CHANGED THE HEADER JUST FOR YOU, ANON! TODAY! I took out the construction signage and gave the kitty a top hat. He is so dapper now. I’d like to keep him in the new layout somewhere and just change his hat/accessorize him on a regular basis… ANYWAY CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES, behind the screen, w/o signage!

The thing is, the new layout is currently… pastel grunge? More like just pastel. all lighter colors w/ a dark font and IDK how I feel about that. I’m resisting the transition. And my webmistress demands tags on the center bottom of posts and just… I LIKE THEM ON THE SIDE. Don’t you guys prefer them on the side? Like a side of French fries!
I think I need to stick with a similar color scheme and just make the layout more easily navigable. There won’t be fancy animated buttons or anything superfluous like that.
The other obstacle(s) is that I have yet to write up this stuff (and yes, I could put temp pages up, but I’d rather unveil it all at once!):
Since it’s STILL under construction, I am open to ideas as to anything else you think should be on the blargh. Not to say I will include them but I’m open-minded ;]
