Wow incredible, god how cool would it be to be in New Orleans and turn the corner and they walk by — it would be amazing! Love all the detail, just beautiful.

OMG I already had one of those in my cosplay tag, she has a tumblr, too, schokopir. I especially like her dirty Armand, dirty-looking cosplay is hard to do:
MC-Neko’s Armand/Amadeo is very good too! She also makes fanarts… she’s amadeo-child-of-the-renaissance here 😀
Thanks for the cosplay post! Love it. I agree with what you said on dramatic/srs cosplay–personally my favs are when people have great period costumes in ancient buildings. One other great one is the ‘carancerth’ Lestat at deviantart. I wish more people devoted themselves to cosplay brilliance LOL, the great ones are truly gorgeous, it’s art!
*u* You’re welcome! It was actually really cool to collect my fave VC cosplayers in a nice masterpost. Agreed, the great dramatic/srs cosplayers are truly gorgeous. It does add something authentic when they choose their settings well.
Yes, I have seen carancerth before, he’s a very well put-together Lestat.
I think he looks more Lestatuesque in these other cosplays (from his FB page), it’s the lighting, the facial expression, etc.:

love your blog <3 I was recently looking at VC cosplays, which are your favorites? I'd love to hear your thoughts. I really enjoyed a new one I saw, the Lestat is on point but the Louis isn't a perfect face for me: it's 'everythingman' on the cosplay dotcom site

Cosplay, for me, isn’t just about the looks, it’s also in the attitude. So if someone’s eyes aren’t the shade as described in the book it’s not a dealbreaker. I think I prefer silly/parody cosplays because it’s so hard to achieve the serious dramatic quality one gets with the added $$$, experienced professionals of cinematography, costume design, lighting, etc., that the film industry relies on when making films. When you aim for silly/parody, it’s truly more about the performance than the physical look.
That said, here’s an example I like of everyman as Lestat:
I think it works! Looking at his other pics, he’s really gone to great lengths to recreate scenes/relationships, and he’s got good Lestatuesque body language and attitude.
As for the Louis, yeah, in most of the pics he seems #ooc, but I think ^this expression is excellent! He’s got the “Lestat omfg STOP” just under his dignified veneer. Nice sharp French features, great outfit, looks like the right age. He could even work as Nicolas. If only this guy worked as well in his front angle as his profile *siiiigh*.
Melodysknight as Lestat gets massive points for also playing the IWTV pieces.
