You can just make out the silhouette of the alarm bell on the left of the porch, in this screencap, which probably would’ve been sounded at all this fire activity.

I was in NOLA once before, when I was 15 and my family was considering moving there, so I didn’t get to do much. It was before Katrina hit. Vague memories of the gorgeous townhouses that looked like little jewelry boxes along St. Charles, and the houses we considered living in were in Metairie. They were high-ceilinged, very romantic, with beds so big they had little step stools. Oddly, the master bedrooms tended to be on the 1st floor just off the main entrance, but the kids’ quarters were on the second floor. Hmmm.
I think each character in the series would have their own version of this. Like a “How to Vampire” book by Gabrielle would be about living it up in the jungle and a version by Louis would explain how to be incredibly emo and the best ways to burn stuff, etc, etc.
