Lestat, care to give us 5 fun facts about you?

♛You want fun facts? Fun facts… mon dieu, what haven’t I told you about myself in all these books? Minutiae I suppose. Or what I consider to be so.

1. I have a coffee-colored birthmark on my lower abs, on the left, near my Adonis muscle, which can be seen just above the waistline of low-rise jeans. My mother has an identical mark on the opposite side, a mirror reflection of mine. It was something she and I had some kind of inside joke about when I was a small child, but I can’t for the life of me remember the punchline. It would send us both into the kind of laughter that makes your face hurt.

2. Oh! This is worth telling: I discovered sometime in the 90’s that we can be tattooed, but that the tattoo will fade away entirely during the Deathsleep. Daniel may have been involved. Of course we decided that I absolutely had to get a large tattoo across my chest that read, “Property of Louis” in huge black calligraphic lettering, just to see Louis’ reaction. When I spread open my shirt to reveal the work of art, every drop of blood drained from his face!

He was frozen in that special moment before the judgment begins. It was a sight to behold. Instead of lay in with the judgment as usual, he actually shifted into damage control, terrified it would last forever, and immediately started looking into laser-removal treatments! He fell asleep at the computer that morning and had to be carried safely to bed.

How relieved was he when my branding had disappeared by the following night? After some heavy physical punishment to my person, he treated me very well for the entire night. How so? Read between the lines, mes petits.

3. I do have taste preferences with blood. For the appetizer, as you know, I like it young and fresh, and I like to get the victim fairly emotionally stimulated because it adds spice. Women especially, for the more delicate package, too, and all the softness. For the main course, older is better, and angry, preferably. A touch of fear is good. Adrenaline makes older blood that much richer. Men, usually, the struggling muscles feels so very soothing.

4. When I’m not devising a scheme to drive him crazy, I leave Louis post-it love notes hidden in various places where he’s sure to find them. Yes, I do that! I am sickeningly romantic. Tactically romantic; those notes tend to plead my case better than I can when we’re deeply embroiled in a fight.

5. I may have ordered custom-made fangs for a special precious friend of mine, molded off of my own. And I might tell you more about that another time… if you beg properly.

Do you have a tag for VC facts?

Yes and No!

image

Lemme just explain a thing real quick tho first, there are differnt types of VC “facts,” and you might find something of what you’re looking for here anyway:

  • Canon facts – facts explicitly stated in canon, like that Daniel’s eyes are violet, or Claudia’s birthday is September 29.
  • Authorial facts – facts not explicitly stated in canon but AR gave us, like that Louis’ birthday is October 9 and Lestat’s birthday is November 7. Some fandom ppl accept these into their own headcanon and some ppl do not.
  • Fanon “facts” – “facts,” or rather, info and stories that some fandom ppl have accepted into their headcanon that was generated in fanfic or fanworks, or wherever, like the fact that the eighth de Lioncourt was a girl.
  • headcanon – what individual fans believe as true facts, which might be an original idea or from one of the above categories.

^SO WITH ALL THAT IN MIND, here are some tags* where you might find any combination of those things:

*and unfortunately (or really, fortunately, in my opinion), some other fandoms are mixed into my tags because as pure as I try to keep this, other media/ideas/fandoms/etc. have found their way onto this blog bc of reasons. Good reasons.

vampchronfic

reblogged your post and added:

I don’t recall any specific fic where Marius was controlling or abusive though once TVA came out people began to think of him in less of a positive light partly because of  Armand’s specific reveals about him and also because he went against his own advice regarding making a vampire of a child (Armand was 17 which was perhaps why he admonished Lestat against such an action, but then how to explain Benji? Benji was made strong, to be sure, because, well, Marius—but he was still very young and Sybele was more than a little addled, so turning her was risky. It was around that time where people began writing more fic examining his darker side.

^Yes definitely, agreed with all of the above.

Re: Benji and Sybelle, yeah, that was truly… there has to be a better word for GIANT HYPOCRITE.

It’s not explicitly stated in canon (from my quick skim of TVA), so I don’t know if this is just my headcanon, but in general, having human “pets” (or whatever you want to call humans that are aware their loved one is a vampire and still continue to live or hang out w/ them regardless) is a huge liability for a vampire.

TVA spoiler ahead altho its already been spoiled to some extent? but whatever I’m still tryna be respectful:

Marius might have turned them so that they wouldn’t be vulnerable to attacks, in addition to the reasons he gave Armand for turning them.

“Can you list a few modern professions you feel Lestat would have, if…”

It’s funny that you said illustrator bc my headcanon is that Lestat can’t draw to save his life (that’s why claudia liked drawing so much), vampire or not

Also: Lestat the young theatre actor. Louis the bookshop owner. Armand the eternal intern lol

Hmmmm, well, yeah, I used to headcanon that Lestat can’t draw, but then there are these quotes about his handwriting, so I feel like he does have some skill, but maybe just hasn’t really tried to Art specifically:

  • “… Lestat does everything in a big way-covers half the page with his magnificent lettering.” – David Talbot, Queen of the Damned
  • “[Mona’s] generation, with Touch-Tone phones. Big deal! I can write with a quill pen in a flurry of curlicues you wouldn’t believe; let’s see her do that. And I don’t spill a drop of ink on the parchment, either.” – Lestat de Lioncourt, Blood Canticle

Lestat the young theatre actor WELL OBVIOUSLY! *facepalm for missing that on my list*

Louis would definitely be a bookshop owner, he would handwrite all those little Staff Rec tabs, too. And he wouldn’t sell special editions to anyone he felt wouldn’t take care of them.

Soooo, yeah. I rewatched IWTV.

If Louis was mortal for 24 hours what do you think he would do?

♠ Louis here. I felt that I should answer this myself, since it is a question for me. Could I share this day with Lestat? If not directly with him, could I give him half? It would seem a beautiful gift to share in either fashion.

I admit that I’m not wholly prepared to answer, to consider this at all… the fact that I have never considered it is because I would never want to raise such an impossible dream in my heart, only to be crushed by the reality that it can never be.

Regardless, I’ll give you what comes to mind anyway. Assuming I must keep such a miracle to myself, here’s a small glimpse of ideas of what I might do:

  • Sunrise/sunset: Too obvious? Oh well. It’s the truth. I’d witness it, and feel that unique pleasure of sunlight climbing up my bare skin, that warmth spreading, not as a warning, but a loving embrace. That same feeling in reverse, as it slipped away at the end of the day.
  • Swim in the ocean, somewhere tropical, perhaps, and feel the tickle of the fish around my body. Maybe take one of those aqueous cameras to capture the composition of the scenery myself, as a memento. I don’t imagine wearing any cumbersome swimwear in this scenario. Maybe just diving equipment (Lestat and I are excellent divers).
  • Food and drink: it could be a gastronomic adventure. I was never what you call a “foodie” now, but I have some dishes that I would love to experience again.

Crêpe Suzette, for breakfast. Fruits, apple juice, coffee. Black coffee, café au lait, jasmine green tea. Beignets from the Cafe du Monde. Gumbo (with alligator). Crawfish

    étouffée.

  • Other drink: I wouldn’t want to become so drenched in liquor that it would limit my experience, so I would opt for a few classic mixed drinks, rather than my previous mortal fare of anything in large quantities. A few glasses of St. Germain 75. Or

Mezcal. Perhaps something I never got to try as a mortal,

    Aszú

Tokay. I’ve been told it’s very syrupy, but it may go well with vanilla ice cream.

  • Dancing
  • Go listen to a string quartet or trio in a garden.
  • Ride through my old plantation on horseback.

I would try to take notes throughout, so that I might relive the experience on those nights when eternity seems the most dreary, and I strain to recall the way the light caught the luster of the wooden body of a cello, the way it filtered through the water on the scaled backs of the fish, or shone in the eye of a lady – or man – as I took their hand to dance, as that light receded below the horizon once more.

vampiredevelopment:

Lindsay: Oh, God. Not that “I’m in love with my mother” dance thing. I’m so glad there wasn’t one of those for Daddys and Daughters.

Lucille: Of course they have father-daughter dances.

Lindsay: They do? He never took me?

Lucille: It was before we did your nose.

Episode 2×13: “Motherboy XXX”

#lestat would suggest he and gabrielle go as sid and nancy #and gabrielle would suggest they do literally anything else

perladivenezia replied to your video: //Oh yeis! I mean I don’t believe he goes carving L+L inside a heart on trees, (that’s more a Lestat thing to do probably) but still, the overall feeling applies to Louis I think x3 any way I’m just happy you like it!

#Headcanon: Lestat had often carved L+L inside hearts on trees, and Louis would roll his eyes, he found it terribly cheesy. When Lestat was in a coma, tho, Louis checked those carvings and would recarve them, tears rolling down his cheeks.

Imagine claudia asking about flowers and why they dont bloom like the painted ones in her room. Imagine her looking through a garden at night, thinking maybe theres one she might see that hasnt closed its petals yet

♛“Actually, I made sure that our courtyard was filled with night-blooming flowers. It still is. Water lilies in the fountain, evening primrose surrounding that, tall pink and white moon flowers… she loved the purple night gladioli…” Lestat mused, glancing out at the courtyard. “It was Louis’ idea to have it done this way after Claudia had mentioned it to him, but he left the choice of flowers up to me.”

“As much as she loved our unique garden, she couldn’t help but notice the difference between ours and theirs.“
