Louis: Lestat, (do) you love me? Say it, please.
Lestat: Of course I do, Nicolas, I mean… Louis.

I love the fact that the fandom appears to be in agreement that the least favorite character in VC is Anne

We can put up with characters who are the psychopaths, the pedophiles, the monsters, the insane.  We can love the badasses, the bitches, the criers, the pyros, and the mad.  The cold and distant, the fiery and passionate.

But what we can’t deal with is an author who can’t even remember the names of her own characters and gets pissed at people for pointing out her discontinuities and out-of-characterizations.

Give us the evil vampires.  Spare us the authorial nonsense.

Agreeeeed!

“I don’t find this amusing…."

I’ve probably told you this before but your blog is amazing and I think it’s great that you will always communicate with people on posts, like you given little replying on some of my posts and it’s really nice that you’re so involved in the fandom :)

Well u probly did tell me before, but, to paraphrase Lestat, there is no limit, NO LIMIT, to the amount of times I can be told this kind of message tbh ♥

… your kind words inspired me to make this brand new memeything! *u*

It’s so fun to be able to engage with the fandom this way, conversations  through reblogging and those little replies on posts, or in the tags…

It’s all about the VC fandom love *u*

And I’ve been meaning to say this for awhile so I’ll do it here… I’m learning that “fandom love” is a kind of friendship that’s unlike any other RL kind (though it can come from or lead to RL friendship). I define “fandom love” as a “subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of sympathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest.” It doesn’t mean we all have to get along or communicate ALL the time, but we all participate when we can and can enjoy that interaction.

A happy thought for this hump day

“You is kind.  You is smart.  You is important.” –The Help

Every single one of the people in this fandom is important.  Let’s work on loving one another and supporting each other in this crazy endeavor called fandom.  We are a small group and we are passionate and with as much hell as Anne Rice puts us through, we do not need to be adding to the pain.

Your challenge for the day is to tell someone in the fandom just how much they mean to you and how much you appreciate them.  Send a quick ask and make someone’s day.

DO THIS.

The only division we should have is between us and the People of the Page (although we’ve proven that we can even coexist w/ them online and in RL group settings; they were amicable at the booksigning I went to in Oct ‘13).
