Do you happen to know the source for this supposed fanart of Akasha?

I keep seeing it on pinterest with that URL as the source, & no matter how much I search it, I can’t seem to find the tumblr post it came from or the artist!

@allthe-lace-and-velvet​, I did a reverse image search with google and didn’t find very good source for your pic. Looks like this image is posted with the wrong description (and I am pretty damn sure it’s titled wrong as “Strider (Aragorn)”) in this artist’s portfolio. Artist is listed as Mark Satchwill. If you look at his portfolio, this looks like this style. 

Posting here in case someone else knows the source or can do a more thorough search than I did. People, sign your work! Watermarks are ok, too! So that we can give credit where it’s due *u*

i started a comic about armand & daniel getting invited to a halloween gathering by some random kids they would hang out/party with in late 70s/early 80s NYC. i gave up around the 30th though & forgot until a week ago because of Life. 

but here, better late than never!

“I don’t understand why this titillates you. Is it merely watching the act or is there something about these people?” Squints. “Their clothes?” 

“Yes, Armand, I’m turned on by pizza delivery uniforms.”

“That explains the empty boxes in every motel room.” 

Daniel side-eyes him. “Did you just make a joke?” 

“Why is she mentioning her husband? That seems like an inefficient way to seduce a man.” 

Daniel rolls his eyes. “The threat of discovery is exciting.” 

“Why is he still holding the pizza? Surely if she’s felatting him, he can put it down–” 

Daniel clicks off the television. “You know what. I’m going to go get more beer.” Looks back down at the VCR. “Maybe some whiskey.”

I totally understand your confusion, IIRC, it’s not explicitly stated in QOTD. Here’s the section heading in TVL that shows us the year for the concert:

“Lestat de Lioncourt
In the year of his Resurrection 1984 

Dionysus in San Francisco
1985″

The SF concert, 10/31/1985, was gonna be the first stop on the tour. Daniel is turned the night before that first concert. So there’s your info! 

This is backed up by the fact that Daniel interviewed Louis sometime between 1973-5 (it was published in April of 1976), and then had a… well… let’s call it a ~long and drawn out courtship~ with Armand for some 10-12 years:

  • 10 years ago: ”And what would a mortal lover matter then, a human who’d been no more than a toy for a decade?” -QOTD
  • 12+ years ago:  “…an old crumpled royalty check for the book Interview with the Vampire,  which he had “written” under a pseudonym over twelve years ago.”

YES THAT IS WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE IN THAT MOVIE AND THAT IS LIKE 50% OF WHY THAT MOVIE WAS SO TERRIBLE. +30% OF ITS HORRIBLE 90′s APPROPRIATION (look, I get it, it wanted to be cool and grunge and Hot Topic but it did it in a very weird and tasteless way), +45% FORCED HET ROMANCE, +23% WHERE THE FRACK WAS LOUIS??!, +12% CANON WAS COMPLETELY IGNORED (MARIUS APPARENTLY IS LESTAT’S MAKER?) 

ANYWAY SO THAT’S AT LEAST 160% TOTAL OF WHY IT WAS TERRIBLE.
