Alright, so I feel like I need to make this a post. I hope I don’t come off as rude, but this is becoming a bit of a annoyance. People aren’t reading my rules and it’s frustrating me to no end. Though I will not name names — as they’ve all unfollowed me once I told them no — I feel like these incidents were a sign to make a small PSA:

Lestat is not some bleeding heart who will change because you beg him to. He is, and always will be, a brat. He enjoys toying with people and seeing how far gone he can make them. Yes, there is affection. And yes, there could be love. But odds are it won’t happen. You’d have to be something extraordinary to make Lestat that far gone. Yes, he’s flirty and smooth with your muse, but that does not equate true romantic interest. It’s mainly manipulation, and I’ve had that warning up ever since I made this blog.

Lestat will also not sleep with everyone who asks. Seriously, stop assuming he wants to have sex with your muse just because he wants to drain them dry. And don’t get fussy when I say ‘He’s not like that’. I’m not saying that sleeping with others is completely out of the question. It’s just not likely unless they really get his heart – figuratively – pumping. And if they’re able to accomplish that, it’s not really a good thing. I enjoy smut as much as the next lady or fella, but the thing is Lestat isn’t easy. He never will be easy. He’s as high maintenance as they come, so be prepared to work for it if you want it. Unless your Louis in which case he’s all but rolling all over you for affection and attention whoops

So there it is! My small, but necessary, PSA. I hope I don’t make anyone mad by saying this, but it’s getting out of hand and making me uncomfortable. Thanks for reading this as well! And now back to your regularly schedule Monsieur Prissypants Lestat.

PREACH. I am tired of ppl treating all Lestats this way. He is NOT just a manwhore. To portray him as such would be ooc. 

I doubt we’d all still be so madly in love with him if he was actually written that flatly.

There is a peculiar  irony that the healthiest and brightest relationship I have ever had has been wrought from quite possibly my most despicable act of depravity to date. I do not dwell much on it- possibly out of some sort of suppressed shame, but most likely because I simply do not see the point.  Of course, I am  thankful and quite frankly astounded things  turned out as well they did, as I  fully expected David to hate me from now to eternity- whenever that may be for him.

What surprises me  even more is  how willing I was  to grant David his autonomy. And how easy it was.  Almost immediately after our short-lived holiday to Rio de Janeiro, we had parted ways. It had not been sad at all. We  did not leave each other on bad terms, quite the opposite it fact. Instead, we left with a profound understanding of one another and a camaraderie I confess to have never known. Even among my brothers in the Auvergne I had not felt such kinship. Especially not among my brothers.  And had it ever been so simple with the others? Absolutely not.

Nicolas had been a mistake, I am willing to admit it now after so many years, hailed into the blood by his maker’s blindness and foolhardy sense of justice.  Despite the love between us there will forever be a rift between myself and Gabrielle that will never fully satisfy and will always drive us away from one another. And I had all but strangled Louis and Claudia in my fear and desperation for love. But David- my scholar, my victim, my love- saw me and accepted  me. Knew me  for the monster I was and still loved me. Even when  my betrayal sucked him down to the pits of darkness, David’s devotion outweighed his anger. I should be ashamed of myself, but I am not. I would do it to him one thousand times over.

We want this fandom to be a pleasant place for new muns and muses to interact, and what better way to bring fresh faces together than to host a party? All characters are welcome; new and old, this fandom and others, canon and ocs—so long as you have fangs, you’re more than welcome to join us!

◆ How to Attend ◆

    We ask that you please don’t attend the Masquerade without first reblogging this invitation post, and also messaging us here to RSVP. Just tell us that your character will be attending, and you’ll be added to the guest list right away! 

◆ Rules for the Evening ◆

  • Characters from any fandom are welcome to attend, so long as they’re some form of vampire. That includes but isn’t limited to Buffy, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and nonfandom OCs. 
  • Each character is allowed to bring a plus one. Your plus one does not have to be a vampire. We welcome plus ones from any fandom, as well as nonfandom ocs. If you plan on bringing a plus one, just send us a message when or after you RSVP so that we can add your names next to one another on the guest list. 
  • Absolutely NO hate will be tolerated at the ball. This event is meant to bring our fandom together, and any drama will quickly be put to an end. If you have a problem with another character at the ball, simply don’t interact with them. There is no need to spread hate, ever. 
  • Our askbox will be open to RSVP until the night of the ball. Last minute reservations are always welcome. Just be sure that you do RSVP if you plan on taking part in any part of the ball.
