How do you think Louis would react if someone beat him at poker/gambling?
Louis lets people beat him at these kinds of games occasionally, if he didn’t, no one would ever play him! This is the face he makes:
However, there have been a few times he’s been legitimately beaten, and he always takes it like a good sport, and tries to reconstruct how they managed it. Usually it’s because Lestat, who has no poker face, saw Louis’ hand and unconsciously gave it away to the opponent.
I wanted to try drawing out my headcanon appearances for Lestat and Louis again… I’m pretty satisfied this time.

I hate to be “that” person, but how do you pronounce: Amadeo, Khayman, Makare, Maharet, and Enkil?
No, that’s not being “that” person at all! What IS being “that” person is being all overly offended at someone else’s pronunciation, so before I answer I’ll just remind y’all that these are fictional characters, there’s no right way to pronounce them, I don’t care if you have a master’s degree in Etymology and/or Linguistics, named your pet/child after them, have a friend with the same name, even if you are the creator of the series, anyone is free to pronounce these names however they want.
Amadeo- “ah-mah-DAY-oh” or “ah-MAD-eeyo,” I sorta use both.
Khayman- “Kay-men”
Mekare- “mee-CARE” or “mek-ARRAY,” personally, I prefer the first option.
Maharet- “maha-RET” (emphasis on the last syllable like “Margaret”), or “MAH-harret” (emphasis on the first syllable), or “muh-HAH-ret” (emphasis on the second syllable). Personally, I prefer the last option.

Marius- “MAH-reeyus” or “MARE-eeyus,” I tend to prefer the second option.
Lestat- Despite AR’s explicit instructions that it be pronounced “Less-DOT” with emphasis on the second syllable, I can’t do that, it sounds too clunky for me. I think it’s more like “Less-TAT,” second syllable like “cat,” or “Less-STAH,” as in “star” without the “r.“ I prefer the “cat” version. More discussion on his name here.

Nicolas is often soothed by two things: music and the kill. Oddly enough, both are also capable of creating chaos for him, but as he tends to always live in chaos, that which is brought on by the embrace of the kill and the music–both of these have the power to enfold rather than disperse.
The secret is in the rhythm. Both contain motion and movement–the repetition and the secret thudding music inherent in the kill echoes that which he finds within the music and can succeed in pulling him back from the edge on many an occasion.
