Where is that pic you posted for the vampire body hair ask from?

[Anon refers to this post] I don’t remember! I don’t remember where I get some of my stuff. Sometimes ppl randomly send it to me w/o a source, and sometimes it’s stuff that was hosted on a website that’s since been taken down. I’ve been collecting it for 20 yrs and didn’t really think about sourcing back when it was only for my own personal collection.

It’s not like I have a password to a super secret online archive and I’m only leaking out little bits to you! Well, I do still have my own personal collection, but I post the things that are worth sharing.

Hopefully we’ll get this kind of stuff for sale or handed to us w/ the new adaptation(s), since that’s a more common thing to do these days!

Most often, I’ll be digging around the interwebs looking for a better quality version of a production still and land on a dead forum, in another language, with a bunch of pics posted, and I’ll go into a user’s account there and find another gallery of their collection… I get lost down the wormhole for a few hours that way, and sometimes find nothing new, sometimes I find smtg I haven’t seen before.

That’s one of the majorly frustrating things about this fandom, a huge difference for us vs. more recent fandoms, is that the more recent fandoms often get a lot of great behind-the-scenes vids, info and pics. The ppl behind movie!IWTV didn’t give us much in terms of behind-the-scenes extras on the VHS, DVD, or BR releases, and we didn’t get a gorgeous illustrated book like the Crimson Peak fandom got 😦

I think the combination of intense secrecy they needed before & during filming (so as not to spoil anyone), plus after the movie came out, the fact that it had so many societal taboos in it…. it pushed the envelope for its time and everyone was quick to make fun of it. Maybe the producers doubted that anyone would want behind-the-scenes materials.

I don’t remember it being as common for all movies at that time, anyway, to share behind-the-scenes stuff. Getting a big behind-the-scenes treatment was more for movies like Titanic or Star Wars.

Interview with the Vampire (1994) dir. Neil Jordan

I remember seeing this movie in the theater and thinking “They should kiss. Why aren’t they kissing? OMG KISS. WAIT NO KISS FOR SERIOUS WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???” I hadn’t read the books at that point, but I remember being baffled by that. Ahhh I have learned so much about the media since.

pay attention to me Louis

#the Vampire Lestat #actual 7 year old

You know what would be funny to see? Lestat and Louis doing the 24 hour handcuff challenge. If you have never heard of that then just look it up on Youtube, it’s by Buzzfeed. Really funny!

#Fanart request. So many of our characters taking on the 24-hr handcuff challenge could be hilarious. They would need to use enchanted chains like the ones in MtD or else it would be too easy to break out ;]

(One of my fics has a similar concept, L/L “tied together” for a night: A Precious Material.)

“Louis, whose
green eyes are soulful, the very mirror of patient misery, soft-voiced, very human,
weak, having lived only two hundred years,
unable to read minds, or to levitate, or to
spellbind others except inadvertently, which can be hilarious, an immortal with whom
mortals fall in love…”
– the Vampire Armand

Are you ticklish? If you are I’m totally going to tickle you. If Louis is ticklish that I might just tickle him instead. After all he is my favorite vampire out of all the vampires in the VC.

♛I’ll confess that I am very ticklish, when I’m in the mood for it. More so when I was a child. My nurse, who you’d call a “babysitter” now, or a “minder,” I suppose… an older villager with limited energy, she would shuffle after me down the halls of the castle, I’d let her catch me up and reduce me to a painful amount of giggling on the floor. She wasn’t satisfied until we were both hoarse from laughter!

Anon, let me be very clear: my defensive reflexes are too fast for a mortal to get to those sensitive areas, unless I’m already compromised… with sufficiently adulterated beverage. You’ll have to find me somewhere in that state if you hope to accomplish this little mission of yours *winks* and then there’s the added mystery of where those areas are since I’m not telling you *smirks*

Louis is your favorite? I’d be offended but that we have that in common, he’s my favorite, too. Getting Louis into full-blown laughter is a real challenge. More of a mental game than a physical one, but I’ll use anything at my disposal to make it happen when the moment is ripe. Protip: he is not physically ticklish unless he is warm and well-fed, and already in a pleasant mood. The difficulty is that much of his pleasure is experienced inwardly.

One of the best and cheapest tactics to get Louis to laugh audibly is the simplicity of a staring contest. He can’t help it. No need to announce when the contest begins, just set yourself up comfortably before him and begin staring. He can’t resist the challenge. Even from mortals.
