“Why do you say such things?”

I think
it’s my favorite scene in the movie, because it’s the one where – when you are
blank of later stories portrayal – you realize that Lestat is not this
one-dimensional villain. This scene is so symptomatic of his attitude:
first he’s all flame and rage, then he casts a bard, and
while fiercely smiling over his “victory”, he already regrets what he just said.
He does have a conscience, whatever kind of nasty or stupid things he can come up with, and he’s genuinely affected and
struggled by what he’s inflicting on his loved ones. He’s without any shadow of a doubt an unbearable brat, but also so much more than that. It’s not that this
dork has no affection for Louis and Claudia – he indubitably does – it’s just
than he doesn’t know how to hold a close/family relationship without being sometimes unfair and/or cruel.

Big shout
out for Kristen Dunst and Tom Cruise here, by the way. They are both amazing.

DORA IS HALF THE REASON THAT WE DON’T TALK ABOUT MEMNOCH

[VC – Memnoch Shenanigans by Eeba-ism]

WHAT DID U EXPECT, A VISUAL OF LESTAT AND DORA UNDER THE CUT? Ew no.

So I don’t deny that it was gross and bizarre but I think of this scene – at certain monthly intervals – and consider it from her perspective. She seemed to like it. He seemed to like it. It went from dubcon to consensual in about 3 seconds… and she seemed empty afterwards?? He actually might have saved her a few $ on feminine products?? SUCH A GENTLEMAN.

Don’t tell me you weren’t asking for this, ‘nonny, bc YOU TOTALLY WERE. I read between the lines.

Did u want this answered seriously? I spent an enormous amount of effort to answer it whimsically ^_____^

  • Lestat is an advanced level dancer and still learns new moves; he gets a thrill out of dancing solo or with others especially Louis when Lestat can grovel well enough for it. Lestat can breakdance like nobody else.
  • Armand danced as part of coven rituals, so his style was probably very animalistic, or religious, maybe “tribal” would be the best description. Later on, Daniel probably taught Armand how to dance at the clubs and bars they went to during their courtship, and that might have even bonded them more. Armand probably still incorporated the spirit of his coven-era dancing

As far as a DANCE-OFF, I doubt Armand would enter into such a battle, he would probably consider it juvenile. Armand doesn’t really feel the need to prove his standing in the current coven.

HOWEVER – if he DID decide to throw down, they would probably need an audience to decide the winner, bc their styles are so different that it would come down to crowd-pleasing rather than skill.

Heeeeelp… Meeee!! My fandoms are killing me, they stole my soul :( give me some vc love to me… Please!!! <3

IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT???

(How are your fandoms killing you?? How did they steal your soul?? Did you not offer it up willingly?!)

TBH, idk how to really transfer fandom love, it’s an intangible thing, its more of an internal feel you feel, when u participate in meta discussions, and squee, and compliment fanartists and fanfic authors, so to generate it, simply do those things! Sending a message to me certainly counts *u*

@grimdarkthroes: How I found VC and my descent into vampire hell

grimdarkthroes

My (bio) cousin makes video games for a living, plays and makes guitars, and is a massive video game and roleplaying nerd. So little me went all spiral-eyed whenever he did anything for me.

He bought me two very important books for my 12th birthday. The Vampire: the Requiem rulebook (the red book), and IWTV. Naturally, I devoured both.

I read IWTV and everything was wonderful pretty much instantly. There wasn’t a single part of that book I didn’t adore. It was through my rapid and all-consuming obsession with vampirism that I actually started to bloom; creatively, socially, mentally, everything just started to resolve and I started to become a person I like. Yes, I read Twilight during this initial discovery stage. Yes, I was in the fandom briefly. But it was so hollow compared to what I had already read that I was perplexed that others seemed to not want to branch out into real, monstrous vampirism.

Essentially IWTV is what sparked me going from awkward pubescent to actually pretty great 20-something. I now LARP with the MES (VtR, of course) and write urban fantasy and am generally completely in love with vampires.

But now a confession: I’ve only ever read IWTV. I haven’t read all of the VC, despite owning literally all of it (sometimes multiple covers per book!) So which should I finally read next?!

#I love stories like these, how we got into this mess series.

It’s heartwarming to see how the Ricean vampires have had such a positive effect on ppl in their formative years. They are dysfunctional hipster vampires, all kinds of flaws and existential crises, they try to resolve them, they try to find the answers to questions big and small, and in general promote a trust in one’s self, an inner confidence and an ability to draw pleasure from even simple things. These are good things for anyone, of any age, to absorb.

YOU SHOULD READ THE VAMPIRE LESTAT NEXT you’re going to love it!
