YAY STU!
Submission by matthaworthart for the What We Do In The Shadows poster competition!
YOU GUYS THE FONTS! ❤
When you are a vampire, you become very… sexy.
I saw What We Do in the Shadows at the premiere for it in NY. It’s a great vampire mockumentary! I was in stitches. Just excellent. Can’t wait to buy a copy on DVD, the creators said there would be loads of extra goodies *u*
There was a Q&A afterwards with the creators, and I asked them if any of their vampires took inspiration from Anne Rice’s, and they did say the costume design was definitely influenced by Interview with the Vampire, among other vampire movies. The Lost Boys was a big inspiration, too. C’mon tho, Lestat himself had to be an influence. These are very dysfunctional vampires.
I don’t want to spoil anything but there is a scene that is particularly reminiscent of a scene in IWTV!
Yes I just saw it recently, I looooooved it! Cannot wait to get it on DVD bc there are supposedly lots of great extras TuT

There was a Q&A after the screening I went to so of course I had to ask on behalf of the fandom not bc I am a crazy person if the VC was an influence for their vampires, and they sort of brushed it off, they said only that their costume designer was influenced by IWTV. The sets had similar coloring! and there were other similarities! but at any rate They said that the Lost Boys was their biggest influence.
BUT THERE IS A SCENE that we both know is very reminiscent of a particular scene in IWTV. Which the WWDitS guys said was their favorite to film, and it was one of the most expensive to shoot.
[[Spoiler under the cut.]]
The Fred Astaire gag! They had their own take on it.

“Some Interviews with some Vampires”
The Sunshine Cinema is now playing WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, a hilarious comedy in which an endearingly unhip quartet of vampires are forced to learn a thing or two about modern society. Writers/directors/stars Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi (creators of the hit series “Flight of the Conchords”) will appear in person at the Sunshine Cinema on Friday, February 20 for Q&A’s after the 7:00pm and 9:30pm shows and Saturday, February 21 for Q&A’s after the 7:00pm and 9:30pm shows.
I saw this last week, the Q&A is totally worth it, too!

This is for overlook-hotel-survivor.
No one else is allowed to look at it.
Be warned.
OMG I CAN’T EVEN!!!
