^YES to these tags… so I have thoughts about Lestat’s taxidermied birbs in IWTV….

• A stuffed animal is one that won’t wriggle or try to escape, you can pick it up and examine it’s little toes and feathers and beak and flick it in the head and basically it is the highest form of submission that a creature can be in. Lestat does like it when creatures submit to him.
• Notice, later on, that Louis and Claudia set a pair of canaries free right before they intend to leave NOLA. The caged canaries are in the same spot on the piano that the taxidermy birds were.
• There are 2 canaries in that cage, symbolic of Louis and Claudia escaping their own gilded cage.
• The taxidermied birds were birds of prey (hawks I think?) but the canaries were not.
• Taxidermied birds were in separate glass enclosures. Lestat was always in a separate glass enclosure in that he couldn’t reveal to Louis and Claudia the answers to their questions because SECRETS.  
• It looks like, at least in this shot, that there are 2 HUGE birds of prey and 1 TEENSY one… underscoring the size difference between the Adult size vampires and the Kiddie size vampire. Though maybe I’m counting wrong, there seems to be more than 3 glass enclosures but WHATEVER.
