OMG this is hands down my favorite part of the movie cause they actually act like they like each other for once without Louis being all melancholic and stuff. It’s like he forgot that he’s supposed to tell Daniel how much he hated Lestat and just goes into full-blown mommy/lover mode. Me loves this!
Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise did a magnificent job portraying Louis and Lestat. They were so canon and so on point, they embodied them perfectly. I don’t think that any two other actors could do a better job. Let’s just hope that it will be decent.

We have the unique opportunity now to cast ppl who are closer to the ages they were meant to be in canon. Brad and Tom were 30 and the characters were 20-21 (Lestat) and 25 (Louis). In the 90s, it was hard to accurately portray a homosexual relationship, and the world has become more accepting of it in film, so hopefully we can have more of their relationship chemistry actually on screen, too ❤
So I’m re-reading the Vampire Chronicles, and discovering all over again that I love the way Anne Rice depicts sexuality, attraction, and affection in her books, not just among vampires, but among humans as well.
People in platonic relationships never hesitate to say that they love each other, to show affection, to kiss.
Sexual orientation doesn’t seem to exist, really, especially with the undead. It seems that a century or two of immortality has rendered most of them indifferent in regards to gender.
I love the repeated narrative of “I hate you, but I haven’t seen you in a really long time, and I missed hating you in person, so come here and let me hug you and tell you how beautiful you are.” There is something very poignant in the way that they treasure the familiar.
Consent is super important in sexual situations in her books, and in simple social situations, and in regards to the giving and receiving of blood.
It’s recognized that people who have been made vampires without their consent are victims of trauma, even if they are men.
If I had the money, it would all be mine in a heartbeat.
What we need to do is pool our resources and buy all of this stuff from whoever has it currently and then make a museum out of it. Supervised touching of everything is allowed provided you wash your hands first.
This post is me acknowelging that some people go onto tumblr to escape the real world and to soothe themselves after stressful experiences, so if they block or ignore social justice and news stories so that their decompression isn’t interrupted with yet more stress, it is not only no one’s business but it makes perfect sense.
Past all the casting rumors and the questions of adaptation around the upcoming Vampire Chronicles reboot (seriously the second book doesn’t have an ending and the framing device relies on the first book, WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO), the thing that makes me most exhausted is thinking about all the straightsplaining that’s going to come out of the woodwork. Again.

For ya’ll who don’t know me (or rp in general) for the most part, we love our fcs. we had our casting director moment ( i know i did) and most of us study and look over interviews, movie parts, etc. I joke about how photoshoots are v canon (especially the oyster one rn i mean…imagine the only magazine talking about vc having a centerpiece on lestat with a crown and everything) but the point is…i’m reaching .it’s not happening, it will never happen. i’m only freaking out over what i think should happen

Leto’s not signed on rn, all josh is doing is fanboying and maybe hoping that it’ll happen. So relax. Enjoy the fact that austraila cares about vc in 2016, cuz even THAT’S a goddamn miracle tbh.

I was the vampire Lestat again. I was back in action. New Orleans was once again my hunting ground. And I was asking myself, Lestat, what do you want to do now? Old rules didn’t matter to me now. I wanted to break every one of them.
In a perfect world, the casting of Lestat for the new movie is someone THIS decorative, but with the acting skills to ensure Lestat is more than a one-note spoiled brat. (Because while he’s the Brat Prince, the stupid egotistical rock star vampire has layers.)
