What’s wrong with blood vivicanti??? (I’ve never heard of it before tbh)

Nah, nothing wrong with it, I just haven’t tried reading it *shrugs*

This is highly subjective, but for me, my love is for the VC characters/stories first, the vampiring is secondary, but crucial in developing those characters. So much vampire media seems like “all one needs is a pair of fangs,” and I suspect BV falls into that category, but like I said, I haven’t given it a chance yet. I don’t see a BV fandom presence here or on AO3, soooooo… that says something about it, oui?

hey sorry if u get asked this a lot or have a link on ur blog (I’m on mobile so I can’t see it) but do u have any blog recommendations that post a lot of the vampire chronicles? im super new to the fandom & it’s hard finding blogs that are still active! thanks so much in advance <3

Hellooooo! Welcome to the Vampire Crackicles our dark little alley of tumblrland.

image

No worries, I actually rarely get asked that… every so often a post will come along “REBLOG IF YOU’RE IN THE VC FANDOM” but those aren’t the best resource bc blogs do go inactive.

Partly bc of the unpredictable nature of blog life partly bc I’m lazy, I don’t have a link to blogs that post alot of VC, but the two that immediately come to mind (bc they inspired me to make this blog) are vampchronfic. and vampire-chronicles-appreciation. Also, there’s jardinsalvaje and annericevcmexico, which have alot of VC fanart, etc., and some content in Spanish.

VC RP blogs would be a good place to start bc the RPers often post ooc (out of character) about the VC… so you could check these tags on my blog:

RP, for RPers, Bump, headcanon, headcanon accepted, damn you and your perfect headcanon perfection.

When you’re on desktop tumblr, you can check out the blogs I follow (they’re all in my header, in the “following” box) and those might be of interest to you, too. Fair warning that there are a plenty of non-VC fandom blogs there bc of reasons ;]

Hope that helps!

yes good ANOTHER’.:*・°☆

I still like the head canon that all the inaccuracies in the first book that Louis should have known about was just him trying to piss Lestat off so much that he’d wake up.

Well it worked, didn’t it?!

“And when the night was empty and still, I heard the voices of Interview with the Vampire singing to me, as if they sang from the grave. I read the book over  and over. And then in a moment of contemptible anger, I shredded it to bits.”

“… As for the lies he told, the mistakes  he made, well, I forgive him his excess  of imagination, his bitterness, and his vanity, which was, after all, never very great… But little things like this don’t really matter. He told the tale as he believed it… And why should I bother to tell of the times he came to me in wretched anxiety, begging me never to leave him…”

“Read between the lines.”

does that IWTV cover have a bucket on it?

lol no, it’s a top hat. I think. I mean keep in mind this is the 1978 edition so perhaps buckets could be worn as top hats? Or were considered dapper? Or merely served as the inspiration for top hats?? IDEK I AM OLD BUT NOT THAT OLD.

A very unusual white top hat, hella dapper, on Alice Cooper:

Or is it in fact an upended wastepaper basket? [sauce] mickimonster thinks so, and shan’t be convinced otherwise!

1 thing i want to know about u: When/How were u first introduced to the VC?

vampire-chronicles-appreciation:

When I was around ten or so (not too sure on the specifics) one of my father’s coworkers was getting rid of a lot of books (it was due to lack of interest or something I’m not too sure why they were giving so many away). Anyway, I have always loved books so I decided to take some and I came out with 1-5 in the VC (not to mention several other Rice books like Vittorio and Taltos) and I just go into them after that point.

Awww, good story. I still get nostalgic when I see battered copies of the VC (or any AR books) on those $1 swap shelves at libraries, and I imagine buying a box full and poisoning enlightening a new reader to the addiction such fine literature

Hey! Do you have a source for reading The Vampire Companion somewhere online or downloading it? I just can’t find it in my country and ordering it off the net isn’t an option at the moment. I can totally understand if you don’t want to answer this.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a source for viewing/downloading it online :-

It’s for sale on Amazon, do you not have access to that in your country? Message me off-anon, if so, and I’ll see how I might be able to help u buy it legally!
