Head Canons about Coven Game Night
Scrabble has been banned after too many heated arguments
Only one game of Monopoly has been played. It’s still continuing after decades
Gabrielle is undefeated at Risk
Back when the Nintendo Wii came out they definitely had remotes fly out of their hands into each other and the tv
They replace all the faces in “Guess Who” with members of the coven
The box for Jenga has “ABSOLUTELY NO USE OF TELEKINESIS TO KEEP UP TOWER” written on it. Under this someone scrawled “no power on the tower”

I had a long day and am too tired to work on actual drawings so here’s this thing I’ve been meaning to do for a while. [x]
Lestat + Louis + strip poker = GOLD
“THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DISCARD FROM MY BEING IS MY SO-CALLED “DIGNITY” at least what I have left of it, if any.“ <— omg hahaha!
#Headcanon accepted.
What do you think the coven does on New Years?
Some years they stay together, if they’ve gathered for the holidays leading up to New Year’s Eve, I would think at someone’s home that can accommodate a large group or they rent a house somewhere. Whoever is hosting sends out the fanciest invitations, each year the current host tries to one-up the previous year’s card 😉
I’d imagine a gathering would look smtg like this, black-tie affair at times (but they’d bring casual clothes, too):

[^X Henry Patrick Raleigh (1880–1944)]
And they do the stuff they normally do when they gather:
- Coven Game Night where some fool challenges Louis to cards and gets their ass handed back to them, even if/when they attempt to cheat
- exchanging gifts – Daniel and Lestat compete in giving the best gag gifts.
- there’s teasing each other about all the VC books, from the oldest to the most recent “So that ghostwriter of yours-” “DON’T YOU START WITH ME, ARMAND.”
- Sharing pics they’ve taken from their year’s travels
- Watching movies together in fancy screening rooms with couches, blankets, and pillows
- improvised jam sessions for the musicians in the group
- artsy sessions for the artistic ones in the group, although they do invite everyone, and Gabrielle has done a few gorgeous fingerpaintings that Lestat treasures
- dancing to the improvised music or someone DJ’ing recorded music
- BONFIRE and/or FIREWORKS (outside tho!)
- Inviting very special mortal friends over for “drinks,” wherein the mortals are aware and consent to get drunk and then share 😉
- marriage counseling (come on, cabin fever sets in and at least one pairing gets into a fight every time).
- shameless flirting (sometimes causes the fighting that needs marriage counseling)
Other years, they go their separate ways and celebrate NYE on their home territory, or in smaller groupings.

Headcanon: Lestat forces everyone in the coven to make a “special secret handshake” everytime they meet that looks like Will Smith’s handshake in the Fresh Prince of Bail-Air
imagine for a moment Lestat And Friends playing d&d
THIS IS AN AMAZING IDEA and I sat on this in my inbox for a long time because I don’t know that much about D&D and I wish I had more to add to this situation. But like, YEAH like D&D Night at Trinity Gate, third Wednesday every month, sounds perfect. Everyone can come over. I’m more partial to the idea that it’s Armand & Friends and that Lestat comes over and crashes the party and acts like a douche but yeah man I think this DEFINITELY HAPPENS.
@sheysira @justsomespacedust @saintambrose DO YALL HAVE THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS?
#FANFIC REQUEST #FANART REQUEST
Oh man. A small selection because apparently my brain took this and ran with it a bit
“No, Lestat, being a bard does NOT mean you sing all your dialogue”
Daniel as DM because he’s the only one who’s even remotely unbiased
“I am going to smite you SO hard, you won’t even know what smote you. Say bonjour to my TWO-HANDED BROADAXE, you little goblin shit!” *rolls a critical miss*
“Oh, that’s great. Just great. I can’t believe you just said that. We have ONE healer in this party, so do you think just once you could keep your big mouth shut and try NOT to get us all killed?”
“Well maybe if St Francis over here *jabs thumb in Louis’ direction* had picked some USEFUL skills instead of “talking to animals” this wouldn’t have happened”
“Pardon? My charisma stats alone have saved this mission like three times THIS EVENING”
//meanwhile Armand is a min/maxing munchkin who number crunches all his stats and barely misses breaking the game
//Nicolas rolls bard and insists Lestat reroll priest/cleric “if he wants to be so ‘good’”
//totally. Spends points and money with extreme deliberation and keeps absolute track of his gear and any and all bonuses so he never forgets to make use of them at opportune moments
//y e p. Meanwhile Lestat playing chaotic neutral or some shit just so he can fuck with Armand with impunity
//I have no idea how to play D&D but you know I am ALL about COVEN GAME NIGHT!!!!!
What does Marius think of Louis
Marius appreciates Louis for his human tenderness, his empathy, and Louis comes to Marius for paternal support. When they play strategy games like cards or chess, they’re among the best-matched opponents in the coven. Pandora’s at their level, too. All three have excellent poker faces.
Marius finds Louis aesthetically appealing but doesn’t have any romantic intentions towards him, but even so, he can’t help but be curious about “upgrading” Louis. For how it might enhance Louis, but also possibly bc the act itself, the intimacy involved, is kind of tantalizing to think about ;]
There’s fic out there that Louis has occasionally modeled in the nude for Marius’ paintings ;}
Canon quote under the cut.
Marius re: Louis, when he’s consoling him that Lestat is still alive, in Queen of the Damned:
“He smiled at Louis. Something in the manner of this one made Marius happy, though he wasn’t sure why. He beckoned for Louis to come to him and they met at the foot of the table and walked together out of the room. Marius put his arm around Louis’s shoulder and they went down the iron stairs together, through the damp earth, Marius walking slowly and heavily, exactly like a human being might walk.
“ ‘And you’re sure of it?’ ” Louis asked respectfully.
Marius stopped. “ ‘Oh, yes, quite sure.’ ” They looked at one another for a moment, and again Marius smiled. This one was so gifted yet not gifted at the same time; he wondered if the human light would go out of Louis’s eyes if he ever gained more power, if he ever had, for instance, a little of the blood of Marius in his veins.
…Then he embraced Louis again warmly. Just a little blood, and Louis might be stronger, true, but then he might lose the human tenderness, the human wisdom that no one could give another; the gift of knowing others’ suffering with which Louis had probably been born.”
Do you think vampires consider human attributes when it comes to social status or is it just based on power and age or wealth? It’s cause I can imagine Lestat occasionally rubbing it in ppls face that at one point he was nobility (not that he’ll mention the exact situation) Like just shoving it in Armand’s face like “I was Marquis once what about you, huh?” I just love the idea of him thinking he has an edge over “common” vampires. Actually, what kind of system do vampire run on anyway?
So I think sometimes they’re a pile of dysfunctional hipsters prodding eachother like that, but I think the last thing Lestat wants is to be reminded of his father by bringing up his former social status. He left that when he left the Auvergne :-
But Lestat still managed to earn the Brat Prince title, before anyone knew about his mortal past.

^I see coven gatherings as being like this. There are so few fanarts of them as a group, but I’ve collected a few under #group shot.
At coven gatherings, everyone breaks into little groups of 2-4 to catch up on eachother’s unlives, discuss the movies and art they’ve seen recently, current playlists, Lestat bragging about jamming with some current musician “yeah I got backstage, and she invited me to play the next show with the band, but all the rest of their tourdates are daytime shows so I had to refuuuuuse *pouts*”
Sometimes Armand thinks he’s made it up, but everyone’s usually very impressed or at least they ACT impressed to move onto the next topic.
The power hierarchy doesn’t seem based on physical beauty or financial wealth, since they can all buy whatever they want. The social status seems to be based on the physical power (age or blood) of each individual vampire and their alliances benefit by extension.
Lestat’s at the top of the food chain with that, for obvious reasons. His fledglings are close, since you know he would defend their honor at the slightest provocation.
Marius, however, still holds some sway over Lestat as the mentor-figure, and rule-maker, since he’s one of the oldest and one of the ones who have lived the most mortal years. David and Marius often find common ground on subjects, and are less flappable than those made at younger mortal ages.
Gabrielle also has a lot of power socially, and somewhat physically, being Lestat’s first fledgling.
