(hereâs a wiki list), Iâve seen most of the movies but havenât read the comics or had serious discussions about the characters, but Iâll open it up to the group. Anyone have answers for anon? @queenofthesavagegarden uses Margot Robbie as the FC for their genderbent Lestat muse, Lestel, and so that mun/muse may have opinions about how the recent Harley Quinn bears a striking resemblance to Lestel (or the other way around).
As a side thought: I headcanon that Lestat loves all the superhero movies, being a Sam Spade fan. Intellectually stimulating or just brawling or anything in between, he loves it all! I headcanon that, even though it was an older movie and thus lacking in the SFX we have today, Lestat really loved the Reeve!Superman where Superman was given the chance to give up his powers, and how that went very badly, and Superman had to then get them back in order to save the day.
Lestat would also probably have superhero costumes of his own and fly around in them. Would he wear a mask? Hmmm⊠Gonna need to see some costume ideas. #FANART REQUEST #FANFIC REQUEST.

Anon, hey, if youâre in creative writing class, then youâre learning, youâre starting out *u* You could be a writer of 10/10 A/L ff yourself someday. The laziness you feel might be more of a fear of failure; I recognize thatâs what laziness is for me when I have a mountain of fanworks I intend to do and Iâd just rather⊠yâknow⊠rewatch an episode of the Walking Dead.
ANYWAY Lestat and Armand have referred to eachother in canon as being brothers of a sort, so I tag them #murder brothers, if you want more Lestat/Armand action in my blargh.Â
Writing can suck at any time: whether youâre just starting out or even when youâre a published author, but there can also be good stuff nestled in among the suck, and like I was often told about drawing, you have to get a ton of bad drawings out before you can get to the good ones. With writing, itâs plot bunnies you want, and good turns of phrase, good dialogue⊠Then you have to nurture your plot bunnies, and encourage them to multiply by spending time and effort feeding them or talking about them with others. Itâs also like exercise, at least for me. Itâs a habit/muscle that needs training and attention. Itâs been enormously helpful for me to have @wicked-felina as a collaborator, bc we do push eachother to be productive †Your class is probably doing that!Â
I personally feel like everyone can write, whether you write superficial or deep topics or anything in between, itâs all wanted in fandom. We just had a post going around about VC characters playing Dungeons & Dragons(an anon asked @monstersinthecosmos about that and others jumped in, so yes, thatâs pretty superficial, but itâs still something the fandom wants to speculate about! Who knows, a fanfic about that could lead to the exploration of deeper issues.Â

For me, writing is about 1 or more of these basic setups, sometimes combined and interwoven:

With writing, at least for me, I like to ask What would Louis/Lestat/etc. think about X situation, place, etc.? Even something as superficial as dessert. Would Armand be jealous that he didnât get to try some of the really fancy desserts that we have these days like water cake? Would he buy them and prod at them anyway? Would he read food reviews just to try to experience this stuff or not care at all? And so much the better if it DOES lead to something at least a little deeper like Yes, thatâs why he made mortal!Daniel try everything on a menu and describe it in detail, he was living vicariously through Daniel. Writing can let you explore superficial and deeper topics.Â
As far as the smut, I feel you on that, I havenât written much in that category either. Iâve read some amazing smut so my bar for that is set very high (and I have alot of pet peeves about the writing of it), but someday Iâll conquer that, too. The thing with smut is, is there a point? Is it PWP (âporn w/o plotâ or âplot, what plot?â)? Or is it the consensual culmination of a slow burn of like 10k words? Is it a power struggle (Like with that kind of sexual scene between Lestat and Armand in TVL when Armand bites Lestat w/o asking first)? Is it the story of someoneâs first time and the awkwardness that might surround that? So smut can be considered a topic like any other, and can be explored like any other.Â
Anon, donât be so hard on yourself, start slow, dip your toe in, look at fic you love and try to figure out what makes it so good for you! Donât be afraid to fail.Â

Bonjour! (Ok so now that youâve set foot past the threshold, youâre going to have to read the books to really get involved in this fandom. Thereâs far too much in canon thatâs not in movie!IWTV.)
But for funsies letâs consider it:Â Where did Lestat go and what did he do after he got control of the car? Well, geographically, he was heading away from San Francisco on the Golden Gate Bridge and dawn was approaching rapidly, so he wouldâve had to stop and find shelter on the other side ASAP. He probably had to bury himself somewhere in the Kirby Cove Campground. I donât think he wouldâve had enough time to turn Daniel that night. Maybe he tied Daniel up somewhere nearby, or maybe Daniel agreed to stand by and keep watch for the day? FANFIC/FANART REQUEST.
[X] So technically, and I hate to break it to ya, but Lestat *riding off into the sunrise* w/ Daniel is not canon. They added that to the end of the movie to end on a lighter note than they might have otherwise.Â
In the book, Daniel goes looking for Lestat in NOLA and finds Armand instead, hilarity ensues.Â
Plot and ships would have had to shuffle around to accommodate a Lestat/Daniel ship. I ship them as a BroTP, if that does anything for ya.Â
