I feel that Queen of The Damned would have been so much better if they replaced the actress for Akasha and re-filmed her scenes/finished filming given that Aaliyah died (may her soul rest in peace)

Aaliyah was one of the only at least halfway decent things about that movie!

(Can’t do fancy formatting on mobile *grrrr*)

I bet they’d used too much of the budget to re-film her scenes, but really, she was one of the only things they got right (well, maybe not “right” but close enough). I really like that she was a vampire of color who kept her color, despite being described as white (not Caucasian but light-skinned) in canon. I don’t know if ancient Egyptians were in fact light or dark skinned but in a series of alot of white ppl, it was good to see some diversity.

Crew morale was probably very low after she died, they might not have wanted to even try to replace her 😦

Hello there! I think you’d know this, I tried searching on my own but wasn’t succesfull so! I recently read the first three vc books and was thinking of reading prince lestat next, but is that possible? like are there some major plot lines i absolutely have to read from the other books before reading pl? (ofc i’ll read the other books eventually, too) thanks so much!! also your blog is rad

Yasss my blog is rad thanx ❤

I think you should read #4 before PL. It’s got a lot of David Talbot, who you only know a teeny bit at the end of #3. He’s… different in PL.

I feel like skipping to PL, you miss other adventures and character development, amusing lines… pages about how beautiful Louis is, lol… I just feel like reading them in order is a richer experience.

At least you have more of an appreciation for the other main characters since you know their background.

Prince Lestat CAN be considered a stand alone, AR said herself it can be treated like that. It’s just so stand alone that I consider it very Alternate Universe. You’ll see what I mean.

*sigh* It’s so strange that ppl want to rush to PL, but I guess it’s bc it’s the currently newest VC and the upcoming book is a sequel to it.

Also, almost 2 yrs since its release, I still refuse to accept PL as canon. It’s AU to me.

I have a question for you Lestat :3 i believe that you like Dior and Yves Saint Laurent while Louis is more of a Alexander McQueen person. Have I made the right concluison?

♛I prefer him not to wear anything at all…

I recently met a man who looked just like Louis (Brad Pitt version), and acted just like Louis. And the best part we became friends! (The question is am I lestat?)

I am so jealous!! Having a Louis-like friend is not quiiiite enough to be Lestat. Do you pester him, belittle him for his introverted qualities? Are you the manic pixie nightmare creature trying to pull him into a more colorful and exciting life? Do you have a gorgeous head of pampered yellow hair?

Louis and Lestat are not friends. They’re hopelessly in love with eachother and live to “stick pins” in eachother. Or fangs. Whichever.

Out of curiosity, which version of Louis is your new friend? There are many, but the two main ones are: Freshly-Dragged-from-the-Gutter!Louis:

Or BAMF!Louis:

^The ego is the same but the outward display of confidence is hugely different. And the smell. BAMF!Louis smells like almonds, black tea and honey. Gutter!Louis, not so much. More like wet cat D:

To the Anon re: the scissor fic: Thanks for the link, I’ll give it a chance and let u know what I think, altho my opinion is just an opinion. I will say I don’t think it’s legendary bc I’ve never heard of it before… but others may be aware of it.

In general tho, I support everyone in their pursuit of fanworks: as an audience member or in the writing of fanfic, drawing of fanart, RP of canon or original characters, and whatever other fanwork (discussion, etc) they want to do.

Fresh novels and official adaptations are great but fanworks also do their part to keep the fandom alive, and all are welcome.

With fanworks, my preference is a great idea over technical prowess. Meaning, if the writer struggles with English as a second language but their idea is engaging and stimulating, I’d prefer that fic over one that is perfect grammatically but boring as a concept. Same with art, I’d take a great idea or hilarious dialogue in a comic strip that may not be very well drawn over a gorgeous but lifeless portrait, bc talent with drawing can be improved.

Of course if you have a great idea AND the beautiful writing/art, well, that’s obviously great, too! But I wouldn’t want ppl giving up in the beginning just bc their technical skills are not at the level they see others at. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

I need to ask this i dont know why but i feel like I need to. Have you ever read that one louis/lestat fic which includes scissors? This is a weird question to ask I KNOW but you’d immediately understand which fic i’m talking about if you had read

(2/2)

I s2g i’m not the author but i was just shocked when I read that one so I want to know if it’s well known or not

I have not, please link me. You have me very intrigued. I hope it went smtg like this

After this, someone lost her scissor privileges for a LONG time. [X]

Interview with the Vampire (1994) dir. Neil Jordan

I remember seeing this movie in the theater and thinking “They should kiss. Why aren’t they kissing? OMG KISS. WAIT NO KISS FOR SERIOUS WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???” I hadn’t read the books at that point, but I remember being baffled by that. Ahhh I have learned so much about the media since.
